Dulles Toll Road

why is it that the stupid machine takes 3 minutes to add up 3 quarters and give me my green light?

I never wait for the green should I be expecting a ticket in the mail?

Well that sucks, where'd you hear that?

I don't skip thru without paying, but a friend of mine got nailed by a camera in PA after his "Smart" Tag didn't work, and he ended up getting a ticket for like close to 50 bucks. That makes me nervous becuase there have been times where the booth didn't pick up on my Smart Tag.

Heh. Smart Tags don't work if you don't have a viable credit card on them. Your friend is a con artist.

No, he uses the Smart Tag every day and it charges to his credit card. For some reason, he got a ticket in the mail from the PA Turnpike, with a photo of his license plate and bill for 50 bucks, accusing him of evading the toll.

ez pass on the greenway used to reject my freshly-charged and out-in-the-open tag all the time. I started using the cash lane for all types.

I had a friend who used to get ticketed for that in MD, but in his case it was because he was using it in a different car. Supposedly what they do if someone runs the lane it would snap a photo of the plate, which someone would then look up to see if there is a unit on file against that plate number. If there was, they would just process it. If there wasn't, a ticket would get mailed. When I got my tag I made sure to fill in all the license plate numbers for all the cars, not just the one I thought I would keep the tag in.

The cameras are now operational on the Rt. 28 exit both north and south-bound. There used to be dummy cameras there until they replaced them Aug. 1st. -§

Greenway doesn't have cameras, but has everything in place to install them. I would expect them to be opertional within a year on all exits.

How do you know they have cameras. I would really like to see where they are installed at, maybe at the main toll gate, but not the exits.
