After a year of community and staff review, the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the recommendation
by Supervisor John Cook to allow Chick-fi l-A, Inc. to construct a new 4,770 square foot
drive-thru fast food restaurant at 5815 Burke Centre Parkway, on a closed bank pad site adjacent to
Kohl’s Department Store.
The structure will be 25 feet tall, although only about 10 feet, including a decorative parapet will be visible
from the road. The restaurant will have about 100 seats, 44 parking spaces and a small indoor children’s play
area. There will be 26 dual stacking spaces for drive-thru ordering and the facility will be open Monday through
Saturday from 6 AM to 10 PM. During the review process, the building was shifted away from the eastern lot
line to protect a ravine and preserve additional trees. Stormwater is provided via catch basins and a detention
system under the parking lot. The realignment of the building will result in the construction of new retaining
walls parallel to Burke Centre Parkway and adjacent to Burke Presbyterian Church.
The applicant has proposed to construct a guardrail and pedestrian safety fence along of the top of the southern
retaining wall. A new sidewalk will also be constructed from Burke Centre Parkway to the restaurant, and the
new entrance will line up with the existing entrance to Kohl’s. The dumpster will be shielded and will house
both a grease trap and a separate drain into the stormwater detention system. Signifi cant new planting around
the entire periphery of the site has been proffered by the applicant. A rendering of the proposed layout of the
building is shown here. Chick-fi l-A has already submitted its site plan to the county and hopes to be under construction
in 2016.

Let's hope the proposed "double drive through" lanes make it, as they work well at other locations.
Friendly staff and decent (fast) food, the only other chains where the employees are as polished and polite, would be In and Out Burger.

I have never understood the fascination with Chick-fil-A. It's just another source of unhealthy fast food garbage. The only time I've ever eaten their shit was at a FCPS high school football game (I wonder why the FCPS libs allow that....Chick-fil-A is sold at all sports games that draw any kind of crowd?). Anyway, I wouldn't walk across the street for another one, let alone wait in one of their lines.

So this Chick-Fil-A probably won't open until sometime in late 2017, but I am planning my camp out now! First 100 at a new Chick-Fil-A opening get free meals every week for 1 year. People come from all over the country to camp out! It is a great big party! Sorry, gays are not allowed and rainbow flags will be burned!

Not sure where they find them (and I've been to ones with plenty of non-whites too) but I wish all the fast food places would hire the same. It's nice ordering from someone who understands the language and is polite.
