Ticket for expired plate

I was ticketed for expired plates while parked in a commuter lot. My registration is current, but I had not yet put the new stickers on. Does the officer seriously not even check the registration before writing a ticket? Was is the possibility that I could have this dismissed? Could I haveit dismissed without court?

The real problem here is that you're an incompetent pussy.

My advice to you is don't pay the ticket and don't go to court, because the officer has probably realized he neglected to check your registration, checked it and then voided your ticket. He's probably worried that you'll sue him for everything he has.

You, my friend, are in the catbird's seat!

FCPS spends $80,000 a month on travel and pays English teachers with online degrees in "human development" $9,000 a day and now we have to work out the cost of the transgender bathrooms. None of this is cheap so the County grabs every dollar it can.

If you don't like it, start voting AGAINST incumbents. Start with the school board, which consumes over 60% of the budget!

Just take the paperwork to court with you and show that you had paid before the ticket. The judge will dismiss it.

Any idea what court fees are and are they waived if it is dismissed?

If it is dismissed you will not have to pay court fees. And it will be dismissed if you follow the instructions from the poster above. This will also happen if you're ticketed for not having a license but don't have it on you and can prove you do later.

You can still get a ticket for not putting the current tags on your plates. It's a different code section within the VA traffic code. It's a compliance ticket though, so as long as you put the new tags on there the ticket will be dismissed because you complied with the law.

There is a time allowance for putting the stickers on.
Last time I renewed (a month ago), it was 30 days.

You weren't 'effed by FCPD. You fucked yourself for being too lazy to put the stickers on.
You're a victim of your own inaction.

if the officers name is on the ticket see if you can get in touch with him. and show him your valid registration paid before the tags expired and paid for before the ticket was issued he might cancel the ticket.

better than having to go to court.
