Hillary Rodham Clinton will hold a midday campaign rally in Northern Virginia on Friday, Oct. 23, with Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) in attendance, the campaign said Friday.
The location was originally to be George Mason University, but a smaller venue more suitable to the expected turnout is being sought .
The event comes as Clinton tries to stave off a challenge from Democratic rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) ahead of next year’s presidential primary. Clinton has seen her poll numbers drop another ten points in the past week, just before the first Democratic debate and her long-delayed testimony to Congress on her Libya policies, where she is expected to explain the Benghazi cover-up.
