Sooooo, we have an unhinged neighbor who likes to wander behind our house and "bird watch." Apparently all of the birds are located in the direction of the back of our house. Not upward toward the sky either.

My husband thinks this woman may be lesbian/bi as she is married but has made comments to me that can only be taken as flirtatious. I don't give a fig about what she says or how she feels toward me, whatever floats her boat, but when it comes to peeping in my windows it's going a bit too far.

Any recourse here? We did approach her nicely while she was back there and that's when we got the "bird watching" comment. We enjoy the natural light and don't wish to live with the shades down because of some nosey peeper. Any ideas?

We are considering a 7 foot fence but it would be nice not to have to go through the expense just because this woman can't respect other people's/property lines boundaries.

#1 - You're probably taking this all the wrong way. She probably is bird watching.

#1.5 - Pull your shades and blinds for a month. If she is a perv, a month of no fun will make her go away. A month of pulling the shades and blinds is a lot easier and cheaper than buying a fence.

#2 - If you think she really is checking you out, I'd set up some kind of a schedule and change in front of the window for a coupe weeks. Do it exactly at the same time, exactly at the same window. If she starts showing up at exactly the same time day after day, you've got your answer.

#3 - If your answer from #2 is positive, you can call the police. Often the police can't / won't do anything, but they will almost always make a phone call or a home visit for you. A cruiser parked in her driveway and an officer at her door is quite intimidating. The cop will ask her about it, she'll deny it, he'll say they have opened a file and will be monitoring the area. Again, they really won't do anything, but the whole visit and speech will probably scare her off.

#4 - I'd make damn sure you're right before going the complaint to police route. Bad relations with neighbors, even weird neighbors, suck. If this lady actually is just out and checking out the birds, then you'll have made an enemy for a long time.

They are unlikely to come out, they won't say they've opened a file.

If birds are the root of the problem, get a couple of cats.

Blinds allow light to come in but peps cannot see in if angled correctly. Get blinds and change away from the window. what is the big deal. Security cameras are another route. They come in handy as security of course and with insurance. train one at her peeping location and review the whole week.

Id start booby trapping the place. Fish hooks hung at eye level...dig pits and pound sharpened stakes, branches, bamboo, whatever, into the bottom. then cover it with leaves etc. Use your imagination.

A festive fall-themed wreath of evergreen branches, pine cones, and colorful leaves will keep your targets eyes where you need them for your home defences to have maximum effect. And makes a fine addition to Any yard. :)

I understand you so much. I have lived in a city where many windows look one on another. That wasn`t a big problem fo me first, because the distance between buildings was big enough. So nothing was seen from other building. When I started to observe a man staying in the window and looking on me in binocular. That made me scared. First I thought that he is just looking at mountains which are seen behind the city. I also love to to do this be the way. I even have binoculars with camera to watch on them two. When I looked on him more attentive he jumped from the window. He was looking at mee 100%. I bought blind on window next day.
