I'm not a tough guy. I want nothing to do with guns. I wouldn't want a gun because someday I would think it's an answer to some problem. But, I realize not everyone shares my opinion. Some people like guns, that's just the way it is. That said, to me the issue isn't about guns, it's about people running around, trying to stop a business for no other reason they just don't like guns. Not one person has said why a gun shop shouldn't be near a school. It's just a general, "it's dangerous" "it's inappropriate". They mean they just don't like guns which is a personal feeling, it's not even an informed opinion.
The owner of the business lives in Mclean, but this bitch is trying to intimidate him by putting his family in harm's way. There is no other reason to put his home address out there.

Agreed. A lot of people protesting are overlooking the fact that the owner of NOVA Firearms was already doing business for a couple years without incident just a few blocks from the new location. I doubt any of them even knew his shop was there. If it had "attracted the wrong element" or "been a bad fit for the neighborhood", I'm sure they would have complained long before this latest move.

So Worry about that . Work to get rid of some of these fire codes that don't allow schools to lock down classrooms. At Sandy Hook one substitute teacher did not have the keys to lock the door of the classroom and that cost lives.

They are "classroom function" locks on school classrooms ,they have a key outside and only a knob or lever inside, the inner knob (lever ect) is always free so people can always leave. The outer knob takes a key to lock or unlock it. That's so there's no button inside that kids can push in and jam the lock with a pencil lead or "toothpick" and the teacher can not get back in to the room. only those with a key can lock or unlock the classroom.

The same thing happened at Va Tech. The professors were afraid to open the class room doors and expose themselves, (and alert the killer that people where in the room) to get to the door locks keyhole that was in the hall outside the classroom, and thus could not lock the doors. There's lots of things that can lock a class room down but fire codes are designed to protect from fires in "Fireproof buildings"


Todays true threat is school invaders who are armed to kill kids. CCW carry permits for teachers, parents yes.. Gun Free zones only help Killers Kill Kids.

Do something constructive that can help save kids lives in a school invasion.

No one in the school carry's that outside key so its safe if the principal is "taken" No teachers can lock the door or unlock it from outside but the Fire and police. Done Deal, double locks on the doors, door can be locked from inside without opening it. No take over of people with the keys to get in, If glass in door is broke a hand reached inside can not open the classroom. In ANY emergency 911 is called DUH!, Police and Fire respond and they can open any door if something has happened to a teacher. Or Fire people can get in thru exterior windows.by breaking them out ..But just try to change the state law that will not allow this simple double key lock on a classroom door. No "barricades" Needed by the way. about 100 dollars a classroom door installed. Its a lock, not a Turf Field.

You "forgot" to mention that almost all of those "kids" are 15-24 year old black males shooting each other most all in second-tier urban areas. That's not the typical legal gun owners, LEOs, and others who would be shopping at this store.

All the Not In My Backyard comments along with the baseless comments about how the sky is falling and every child at the school is in danger every day. If you are that worried about this, take your kid out of the school, move or take some responsibility for your own destiny/life.
