I'd say wannabe Richie riches. Snobby and entitled without the trust funds to back it up.

Their parents are the Republicans who support the 1%'s tax loopholes but get stepped on by the 1% like everyone else.

I think the rich snob stuck up high school in FFX is pretty obvious.

If you have to ask, yours is NOT it.

Chantilly is definitely not a rich snob school.

Its a typical suburban middle class school filled with the normal assortment of jocks, freaks, nerds and hoes.

Its political persuasion, I would say, is slightly to the left of middle. Lots of government payroll parents.

Back in the day when I went to highschool. Mount Vernon was the rich snobby stuck-up highschool.

Now, that was before it went into a complete downward spiral and is now a shithole of a school.

Rich snobs are not in *public* high school. They are playing in a different league. Anyone who is rich and sends their kids to public school - well, they are not rich.

Au contraire mon ami. You will find plenty of rich snob spawn occupying desks in McLean & Langley high school classrooms.

Quite a few very rich kids in public schools scattered around.

Yep, McLean and Langley have quite a few. Just check out the student parking lot at Langley sometime. Its insane what some of these kids drive.

Oakton has thier share of kids living in multimillion dollar mcmansions as well.

Even though they might be able to afford private schools, some rich parents believe that sending their kids to public schools better provide for real life experiences which better prepare students for real life situations and decisions.

Also, some rich people are cheap as hell. Despite their millions they will send their kids to public school to save money. True fact.

Public schools are for the lowest trash of society. That's why I and all my socialist friends send our kids to the most exclusive, expensive school in the DMV! P.S. - Some suckers actually think democrats represent average Americans!!!!

My wife and I are both products for Fairfax public school system. We made 940K last year and plan on sending our kids to public schools. Our kids will be fine.

Only poor kids and kids who are hated by their parents go to public school.

You don't accumulate wealth by paying twice for the same education by sending your kids to a private school after paying property taxes to attend public school.

I LOLed at this, too, especially considering the folks who were up in arms a few years ago about possible Oakton-bound students being redistricted to lowly Chantilly!

No - those are the n***** rich. They are the one with 5 series and the $3M house, but 100K in credit card debt and little Madison's college plans include a delusion hope for an athletic scholarship and a reality of massive student loans. That's what's in Langley and Oakton.

You don't serve your children well by sending them to a failing school system, even if it's "free". Wealthy schools like Langley, Oakton, and Mclean are being significantly affected by the swelling ESOL/FRL/immigrant population, but in different ways than other schools. For the "rich" schools, it's much higher class sizes, stagnant teacher salaries, and constant pan-handling for money. As more and more people realize this, they will punch out of public schools. Even safety schools like O'Connell and PVI are seeing significant increases in applications.

It's maybe 120K over 12 years to send a kid all the way thru private school, unless you go crazy with a Sidwell, Prep or Flint Hill (35K/yr each). Money well spent.
