To rebut the proposition that violent crime is at its worst, one does not need to show that 2015 has the lowest crime rate in history; rather, one need only show that there were earlier periods with higher crime rates, which there were 20 years ago. Adoption of Christianity is not an independent cause that can be isolated out of context. Hoards of people simply instantiating themselves was. In contrast, the Vikings took up residence in England and were eventually absorbed after a couple hundred years of nearly constant warfare.
