They were scheduled for a six day layover in Hawaii but an after quake has delayed it for a few extra days. They still are getting 18hs a day at time and a half. The county is picking up the tab. $220 a day per diem should take care of drinks and other fun stuff. 57 persons x 31 days x 18 hrs x 1.5 pay rate x $45 avg pay = $2,146,905 + 57 persons x $220 per diem x 6 days = $75,240 + air fare Hawaii home 57 x $450 = $25,650 not to mention their dogs and their care say 25 dogs x $150 a day x 31 days = $116,250 These figures are not intended to judge the value of this effort but to let the tax payers what it costs.

I guess the other way we can/should look at VA Task Force 1 being deployed, even if we are paying the bill, these guys/gals are getting the BEST hands on, real time training money can buy.
Hopefully we will never need this level of support locally in the area, but the level of experience does cross over for other large scale disasters.
In a way I am happy to have this level of expertise and capability located in the County if we ever need to call upon it.

Nope, all I need is a Fire Pod, Ricky Riley and a handful of Volunteers from Kentland. Pussy's from VA-TF1 can go change their tampons.....

None. Obama's jihadist brothers would be celebrating.

They wouldn't be coming to help; they'd only come for the looting and pillaging.
