Best part is Brian lives in Sully for 3 months and only gets 50 votes less than dude who lived there for 15 years. Kathy Smith is going to clobber the Teapublican.

Brain we where just 50 votes away...... If we had a real primary and not when a lot of people are out with the kids and or jerking off or watching porn or working, or something illegal or legal we would of won.

Can you say 1.25 tax rate?

Strings and immersion language offered in pre-K classes, wOOt!

We're doomed.

I'd vote for him. He seems a decent sort. It's nice when you don't have to feel locked in step with one party.

By that time, Kathy will have done her damage. Our property taxes will increase and there will be a meals tax to help put restaurants out of business.

The School Board will once again demand more money as they will spend more and more and nothing will have changed--except that we will be worse off.

Kathy could easily have been beaten. Sad.

Republicans need to learn to start at the grass roots and grow candidates. We should have had a good candidate for Chair.

His son won't have been in local schools- he goes to private school.

It's still a local school.

Like I said in the other thread, I've got no plans to run for anything at this point. I'm certainly not going to announce anything here. Kathy deserves a chance to do the job without worrying about politics.

Unseating an incumbent is one of toughest things you can do. Four years is an eternity in politics, but I have almost no desire to run again unless I think I've got a good chance at winning. That's why I ran this time - this is the first time this seat has been open in twenty years. I knew if I didn't take a shot now, I'd probably miss it. Unfortunately, two other folks felt the same way.

Regardless, I'm going to keep staying active and trying to help in whatever way I can.

It's what the voters wanted, and good or bad, that's the way the system works. Beating a Democrat, and especially an incumbent, is harder and harder in NOVA. I'm guessing the seat is Kathy Smith's until she decides to do something else.
