Yea..this DB Pens fan was sitting next to us. We happened to walk out of the stadium next to him..he was seriously fighting back tears. TEARS! WTF! It's a hockey game. Well, I guess I'd cry too if I were from Pittsburgh.

It's because I live in the area. When I lived in Pittsburgh, nobody could touch the Penguins.

I was a big fan in 1999-2000 when they went on that awesome run to the playoffs only to get their asses handed to them by the Penguins....so this year it is the perfect redemption for all Caps fans...

Mellon Arena is a much different place to play than Verizon.

I'm very annoyed by all of the bandwagon fans. I attended every game last season, even back in October/November/December when they were the worst team in the league. I remember there being barely 7,000 people there most games. Now it's impossible to get tickets. But that's the price of success. GO CAPS!

Come on, why is everyone hatin on the bandwagon. This town needs a team that EVERYONE gets behind. Our teams (Washington) keep sucking left and right. Its nice that we can come together and stand behind a team. Olie "the Goalie" was the man, I am glad to see Simeon might be our next brick wall! We need all the fans we can get, the Pitt fans would over run our rink if it weren't for Leonosis only selling tickets to locals. I hope that we get to see Crosby crying like a baby after we take it to them on their ice. Go CAPS!!!!

It's always great to watch playoff tournaments. You don't have to support the team all year round. It's nice to see some fans of any Washington team getting rev'd up.

I have followed the Caps for about 10 years and used to go to the games after the strike season when Verizon was like a fucking morgue and you could pretty much have your pick of seats.

I've been a Caps fan for over 20 years. I watched when John Druce went supernova and took them to the 3rd round for the first time ever. I love the support but I hate the pretenders who only know Ovechkin and not the Gartners, Hunters and Langways of the past.

I wonder who will win a championship first - the Caps with their heartbreaking history or the Skins with their bungling front office and inept ownership.

I immediately question the fan credentials of anyone who doesn't mention Al Iafrate and Michael Pivonka in that statement.. and Peter Bondra doesn't get any love? None of those other clowns ever took them to the cup. And as for my fav. caps player, Dino Cicarelli may not have been the best but he was entertaining to watch and had a cool name to say.

Peter Bondra was the shit at that time.

Of course, you can't be a caps fan if you don't remember games being played in the USAir Arena....Yes, USAir, not US Airways.

It's too bad some people left the game after the strike, but that was the best thing to ever happen to the Caps. They got rid of the old, expensive talent (think Jagr) and built a team from the ground up thanks to GMGM and TL.

This team reminds me a lot of the Dino days. I can remember what a sad day for the caps organisation when Dino and some other teammates were caught trying to go five hole with an under age girl in their van in Alexandria.

I knew that chick. She was 15, looked about 22 and was hot as balls. I believe she went to Paul IV with my then girlfriend, but I'm not sure. The accuser and another chick in our "group" were total whores and loved hockey players - pro, college, amateur, beer league...didn't matter.

FYI-that was total set up on her part. One, night we were all out at Denny's on Route 50 after some of us played a league game at Fairfax Ice Arena and she was doing two of the guys in our "group" (neither knew about the other, but we all did, LOL). She mentioned to us that she was hanging out with some of the Caps - specifically Geoff Courtnall and Dino and wondered what would happen if she claimed they "raped" her. Then, magically, 2 weeks later this all blew up. One chick in our group called the police and reported her prior statement and gave the names of us willing to corroborate, of which I was one, but I never got a phone call. Of course the charges were dropped or plead down(?), but the damage was done to those guys and they were gone within the next two seasons.

And to RESTon Peace - I wasn't going to do a laundry list of all the players I've rooted for, but if you doubt my credentials as a fan...I was a huge fan of John Kordic. Only a longtime fan will remember that hellion.

I was just kidding about credentials, I just wanted an excuse to mention Dino.

Unbelievable loss tonight...SUX!
