According to Bromley, unlike federal law, in Virginia individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence are not prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition, increasing the risk for lethality in domestic violence situations.

---- Someone should tell this moron about the Supremacy clause.

Bromley says federal law prohibits these same offenders from possessing any firearm or ammunition and that violation of this law is a federal criminal offense punishable by up to 10 years in prison, but Virginia law has no such restrictions. And because local police have no jurisdiction to enforce federal law, domestic violence offenders under Virginia law can legally maintain possession of their weapons after a conviction.

----- No, as he just pointed out, it is illegal under federal law for these people to possess firearms.

The Burke "forum" was a joke. All the panelists were hand picked and had
an established reputation for being anti-gun morons. The deck was stacked.
Nobody from the NRA or other pro-gun groups were invited.

Exactly. What is the point of enacting laws on the state or local level to make illegal something that is already illegal on the Federal level? Is someone afrain that the United States is about to repeal the law?

Supremacy clause.

^^ santa domingo clause

there's no such clause in the Constitution of the USA concerning "a parliament picking and choosing what they want each citizen to have"

go back to Spain or where you want to be beat over the head whenever you don't pay your bribes to the police

usually they'd get separated (an order to stay away from each other) if they are always fighting and the neighbors / police are concerned (fed up)

weapon being taken? usually if there was ANY EVIDENCE the weapon had been used illegally the guy would do jailtime. and in jail of course there would be no weapon.

short of that no. weapon stays.

==================================

#sniveling democrat facist who wants control of calling police to point guns at civilians head to get their way and ignore the real laws (for money) - while at the same time claiming citizens aren't allowed to be armed

Is it part of the NRA plan to arm criminals. Probably 75% of the NRA members beat their wives. The ones who don't get beat up by theirs.
