Sneaky Broadcast surcharge by COX Cable

Cable companies like Cox have just started this during the past month. Other companies in other states are also doing it. What a crock. This is how they treat their dedicated customers. SNEAKY...Check your new statement.
Cable companies are tacking on Broadcast TV charges:
Besides price hikes typically upsetting customers, this one in particular is maddening because of the way it’s being conducted. In essence, by tacking on the additional cost below the bill’s main charges, the company is able to jack up prices without having to advertise that anything has changed.
Companies are doing this as a way to pass on retransmission fee hikes from broadcasters below the line, so they can increase your bill without increasing their advertised rates.
It's a sneaky practice on several fronts. One, because it's technically false advertising, and two, because it's really just duplicating the costs you're already supposed to be paying via your consistently-skyrocketing cable TV bill.

Don't be a Cox-sucker. Get rid of your cable like the rest of us.

You have to switch between Cox and Verizon ever 2 years.
People too lazy to switch or just don't care about another $20, $30, or $50 per month.
I started with Cox at $120 three years ago (phone-internet-cable Bundle), and when I left last year it was at $160.
I'm with Verizon now at $120 for the same thing. You just have to keep switching for the newcommer rate.

cheapo tv watcher: Yes, but I am not under a 2 year contract like you.
I can quit whenever with no penalty. You would have to pay a penalty if you switch early.
I'll call the loyalty group on Monday and threaten leaving COX and they will cave again.
