Did the plow trucks in Virginia go on STRIKE today?
Posted by: Plow Already ()

I just drove from Baltimore city to my house here in Fairfax. The streets in Baltimore were okay, coming out on the highway they were decent and there were trucks out on 95 South plowing the road.

As soon I got over the bridge to VA on 495, the road became a mess. Nothing had been plowed, only lines where tires had gone over from people driving and then snow in between. The left lane was practically covered.

Then after a mile or two, I saw no less than 15-20 dump style trucks PARKED on the other side of the highway one after the other. I kept going and saw more just PARKED on 66 west. WTF?

What are they waiting for?!

Btw, I saw two accidents in VA and none in Maryland, thanks to the roads being plowed, even in the rural part of 95.

Why bitch and complain on a forum when you could call VDOT and ask them.
Also your mother called and would like you to return her vagina.

I'm not bitching, I just want to know. I could call VDOT, but then, what's wrong with using this forum? This is why its here.

OMG there are so many plows on my street, they already plowed my street like 5 times. Such a waste of tax money. I'm calling VDOT to complain.

Considering Virginia's huge VDOT budget for emergency planning, that's ridiculious!

Most roads in NOVA are plowed by private contractors who get paid by the hour. Why should they hurry?

VDOT regular employees are too stupid to be allowed to drive a snow plow.

They heard about folks on the Fairfax Underground degrading them and calling them a bunch of redneck hicks so they decided to let the Fairfax assholes plow their own damned streets. Next time you want the streets plowed call a Yuppie.

If that were true, why are there hundreds of the big dump trucks uniformed with VDOT written on the side?

Here in Lincolnia they have plowed my street 3-4 times, and it's a dead end road.
Usually dead ends are the last to get attention.

i know someone who bought a plow truck (not dump truck) with his own money earned totally by sweat

these fucking gov pigs borrowing money to purchase "gov businesses they run and own" (so they think) and giving fucking illegals jobs - DISGUST ME

they owe that guy big MONEY (me to but not on that)

snow removal has NEVER BEEN a "every year profitable" deal in VA

the only fucking people say it is: are fucking gov workers stealing money under the name "snow job"

the truth: va didn't pay to plow for small snow in the past - you stayed home maybe a day and or drove slower for up to a few days. no big deal.

the truth: people who purchased equipment, private money, knew they wouldn't be paid every year - they planned for it when deciding if it was time to finance a plow

they also owe my friend (fucking fx co gov) like A FEW HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS

he was a denizen , had competitive prices , fully owned (yard care) business

the county continually gave contracts to companies using illegals. refused him any work. moreso some foreigners who hired him, gov workers, refused to pay after he did the work.

rich politicals in the area are well know to be tied to the same companies: own them

rich politicals were warned on the news there could be legal repercussions for faking work. they'd used "certified" (likely handed to by county under table) owner who send NON-CERTIFIED workers, illegals, to do work

they did this as a life style - A LIFE OF CRIME IS NOT A LIMITED ACTION

Every road in Montgomery county was cleared by 10 am this morning. Had 20 or so service calls and was all over the county and the roads were great. The chemicals and plowing sucks V-dot has implemented.

There were 20 plow trucks on 495 clearing the entire road at once when it would only take 5. Convoys of ten trucks or more is absolutely ridiculous on roads like 28 and rt 50.

It is true. My colleagues that drove to Dulles from Frederick, Glen Burnie, Rockville - all commented that the roads were fine until they hit the VA state line. Then it went to crap. Thanks Governor Terry McAuliffe - can we check if he was posing for a media shoot again today while VDOT got pwned by MDOT?
