Because NOVA has significant expenses and has to charge someone. Back in the good old days, state legislatures paid the lion's share of post-secondary education expenses outright. Then those goober anti-tax morons came along and the burdens were more and more dumped onto already struggling students and their parents. While fat-cat high-end taxpayers laughed all the way to the bank. Now it's coming time to turn the tables once again. The rich have turned themselves into the only group insociety that can afford to pay the bills for the middle class, and now they are going to have to step up and pay them. Soak the rich! It's nothing more than what they signed up for!

Wanting to pay more taxes is stupidity. Clearly, any working person wouldn't choose to have more taxes taken out of their pay.
I'd love to see a bill passed that says anybody that voted for a democrat gets 30% extra taken out of their pay after every presidential election. It's only fair. A bill like that cannot be argued as it makes all parties happy.

That's because 2+2 sails right over your fucking moron heads. More taxes equals more services that you don't have to pay for on your own. Have your trash picked up by a town, and the town negotiates a good deal with the hauler. Try to do it on your own and you get raped for it instead. Next. try to ruin your own judicial and penal systems. See how that works out.

Look at it this way. Virtually every prosperous, successful economy in the world sends a higher percentage of its GDP through the public sector than we do. Asia, Europe, the Middle East -- it doesn't matter. We are just pretty much on the bottom at that. What do you suppose all these other countries know that we don't? Here's one thing: They know to be sure that their middle classes are paid well enough to be able to afford the taxes needed to pay for the welfare systems that the middle class requires. WE DON'T KNOW THAT. We divert income not to the middle class and then to the state, but instead to the wealthy class to the point where they are the only ones who have any wealth. As we are starting to see, this is a very, very bad plan.

You're even dumber than I thought. People are not taxed. Income is. Land is. Some consumption is. Some imports are. We pretend that estates are. Meanwhile, taxes today are at historic LOWS. These are levels not seen since the 1950's. Wake the fuck up.
