BURKE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A Fairfax County townhouse caught fire Saturday after food was accidentally left unattended on the stove.

The county's fire and rescue department crews responded to the Burke area townhouse fire at approximately 10:20 a.m.

Firefighters say smoke was coming from the rear of the two story townhouse in the 6100 block of Pond Lily Ct. when they arrived. They attacked the fire aggressively and quickly put out the fire. Most of the fire was being exhausted from the kitchen area although the second floor experienced moderate signs of fire damage.

Six adults and two children were forced to evacuate, say officials. The Red Cross is now assisting the family.

One of the residents was transported for a non-life threatening injury while another adult was treated at the scene.

Officials estimate that $95,000 worth of property was damaged in the fire.

The libtards are to blame for this. If it weren't for the libtards we wouldn't have food to leave on the stove.
