Doesn't matter. There are no good spots.

Wherever you are take 66 E or 95 N and head downtown.

the real answer is zero. bars aren't legal in virginia, just restaurants that serve alcohol.

Any of the Great American's -- Mike's, Artie's, Sweetwater, etc.

Epicure in Faifax City

Patriot's off of 29 -- My favorite shit / dive bar, and they have a cordoned off smoking room in the bar, which is nice now that it's cold

Reston Towne Center -- overpriced, but there are a lot of venues, something for everyone

Red Rock in Centerville -- Nice place, but too many Koreans around there though

Buffalo Wing University if you love frat boys and college hoes.

Jaxx in Springfield -- haven't been there in years, not sure if it's still there, but had a blast when my friends worked there.

Coastal Flats is not a bar. It's a family restaurant with a bar.

Fuck bars. Buying booze from the store and drinking it back at your place with your buddies is much cheaper.

PJ Skiddos Are they still there in the middle of Fairfax on Rt 50. The place is there. have not been in there in at least 8 years.Im 60 and 1st went in there maybe 28. They had some good happy hour food. I think they might own or owned Kilroys. Noisy place at the bar but there are some quieter tables.

Kilroys has always been a good place , but very noisy , Cheap Happy hour food not free Seafood Tue/Thur Tacos Wed. unless they changed., the place is jammed by 6pm get in there at 5pm to get a small table.

Vienna Inn is always a trip, Old place Ive been in there about every 8 years since I was 21. Cheap beer cheap hot dogs.

And if you want to be part of the Fairfax city ticketing program. Nobody likes bar\restaurants in Fairfax City because the Fairfax City cops are harassing everybody.

Those Lee hwy. C'mon fellers at least make it sporting by waiting down the block. If I choose to imbibe ( not get piss drunk) in the confines of the city, I find watering holes that have off site parking within walking distance to escape and evade from. Keeps those sadsacks guessing. They should really be absorbed by Fairfax County Police.

It's also not in Reston Town Center. That's Jackson's Mighty Fine Food and Lucky Lounge (aka, Billy's place). Coastal Flats can be found in Tysons Corner, Fairfax Corner, and Gaithersburg.

Paddy Barry's near Tysons on Rt. 7 (typical strip mall Irish pub)
McKeevers in McLean (small pub, nice atmosphere)
The Old Brouge (Great Falls) - authentic Irish pub
The Auld Sheeban, (FFX City)
The Green Turtle (FFX City) - sports bar, average food
Bungalow Billiards (Alexandria) nothing special but not bad
Lucky's Sports Theatre (Alexandria/Springfield) - it's ok .. decent food.. the bar could use a facelift
Fiona's - Kingstown - another strip mall Irish pub
Glory Days- sports atmosphere, caters to kids and families
Buffalo Wing factory - good wings, no frills

Typically, the bar isn't nearly as important as the people you bring to it. Good friends can have a good time together in a lot of different places, including I would guess just about all of the above.

Skip any bar or business in FFX city. FFX city is nothing more than a ticketing trap.

Skip City of Falls Church and Town of Vienna as well for same reason above.
