Also, no teacher lives in west virginia and then commutes here to their job.

Many teachers commute 1.5+ hours to work in FCPS schools - from WV, MD, & far parts of esteem and southern Virginia.

FCPS will be closed. Last year just cold weather closed FCPS.

I live in Martinsburg, WV and commute to Fairfax. Usually weather out here is worse, but does not usually influence my commute.

Roads are slick on side streets/neighborhood streets and as usual people are driving poorly.
Shocked they didn't at least delay school. Anybody on the roads after 7:00 AM good luck. Rt 123 and FFX Parkway are drivable but snow covered and really slow as of 5:45 AM.
School parking lots will have lots of fender benders so make sure the BMW, Mercedes and Audis all your kids drive stay in the garage.

Morons on the road will pose a threat to our kids. I would not go out in the demo derby that is nova snow roads. Christ Ive seen nospeaks drive into oncoming traffic because that side of the road had less snow on it (true story). I dont care how experienced you are in the snow unless you have an auto force field you cannot keep the grandma from Cambodia from hitting you.

The roads were awful today, completely unplowed or salted. I almost crashed on black ice & slipped walking into school. FCPS completely f-d this one up, there are currently 22 teachers not into school and 2 bus crashes. Rediculous!

I was out before 7a and it was really crappy. Getting cut off by bimbos in their snow white Mercedes makes the trip harder. Once some sun gets on the roads they will be fine, but Terry McAwful's VDOT didn't pretreat anything. I would have put my own kids on a 2-hour delay.
I'm not sure why FCPS can't default to a 2-hour delay when crap is coming down, then re-evaluate at 9am for closure. I know they catch a lot of crap for closing due to what ends up being rain, but come on.
