So stop "rooting" for your party. It's shows you have a lack of intelligence.

This.

You should be rooting for YOUR COUNTRY. Not for your party. If you don't understand this distinction, you're beyond help.

Like Congress, beyond help. Afraid the other party might do something good for the country that they can take credit for in the next election cycle. All for the party, nothing for the country.

I would say politics is like sports without referees, or like Nascar without retaining walls.

Politics is doing what is contrary to good sense because it will give you some advantage. Example: voting for a bad policy like the minimum wage - does anyone still fail to realize that it creates unemployment and hurts minorities? - that will gain you votes because it is popular with the mob. Or voting tax breaks for big businesses that support you with campaign donations. It is abuse of power for personal gain by politicians. That's politics, as distinct from good government. Neither party seems to be any good at good government, but very proficient at politics. And both parties' stock in trade is whipping up hatred for and fear of the other side. An expensive spectacle.

There have been thousands of books written explaining that "Both parties are full of brainwashed jackoffs" - it is the brainwashed jackoffs like yourself that need to be educated on reality.

You're still stuck in the ignorant and under-developed mid-19th century, Bastiat, you blithering idiot. Your stupid broken window was repaired a long, long time ago, so put a sock in it. And since we now have sufficient computing power to monitor the situation of every instance of differing minimum wages across neighboring county lines, we now know that increases in the minimum wage of a magnitude comparable to historical examples of it produce no detectable changes in either unemployment or inflation. Both the numbers of affected workers and the degree of the increase are too small for them to combine to create a measurable macro level effect. What does of course get affected is the purchasing power of the workers who receive an increase. For them, it's a big deal. For everybody else, it's a non-event.

Reality is that it is ideas, approaches, and solutions that ought to be discussed. Party labels are silly regardless of whether one favors or opposes them.
