It's actually $2.5 billion for 2014-15.

What sort of off-the-wall metric is that? Funding for FCPS should be tied to what's necessary here, not to whatever is happening in freaking Danville or some other god-forsaken location. The prosperity of Fairfax County has been built and is anchored on the quality of our pubic schools. Without high marks there, the sorts of people and businesses that have driven and supported our economy will no longer be as interested in coming here or remaining here. The county transfer to FCPS is currently just above 50%. It should be closer to 60%. Pay now or pay much more later. This is the sort of decision that dummies frequently botch completely.

What you SHOULD think is that you are a neophyte dumbo who has no clue at all about school system needs or budgets, and no business putting forward any sort of statement or supposition at all about either one of them. You do not have ANY qualifications. We don't need mindless blathering magpies here.

LOL!!! Now you are some high-powered structural engineer who has inspected each of the hundreds of buildings that FCPS is responsible for? Somehow I doubt that you could find the front door to many of them.

The disconnect is between you and reality. Do some research. There is a regular process of school expansion and renovation that is always ongoing. The county grows and its people move around. Do you think this sort of thing escapes the notice of FCPS? Do you think that they are not planning decades in advance for these very things?

Are you unaware of business property taxes? The rate is $1.215 per $100 of assessed value. Did you think you were the only one paying such things? Then we could talk about sales and use taxes, BPOL fees and taxes, and we ought to be able to talk about meals taxes, but for no coherent reason at all, the bird-brained magpies don't seem to like those very much.

Hello? It comes pouring in quite regularly from quite a variety of sources that you appear to know precisely nothing about. A total of $3.7 billion per year. A diverse revenue base is an important thing for the county. Especially important are those sources where the county can control the spigot.

That's just appallingly stupid.

The county has thousands of employees who are much, much smarter than you. They are light years ahead of where your so very limited thinking has taken you in such areas.
If I may say so, the real problem here may well be the assfuck right-wing notion that monkeys will eventually type Shakespeare. In fact, even a large group of unskilled and uneducated goobers is far less likely to come up with any useful idea at all than a single trained and experienced person. Your ideas of how things are and how they ought to be are completely divorced from the realm of reality. Simple, uselsss, pointless nonsense. That's all you are able to offer.
