I've heard some conflicting stories - someone told me it was supposed to be a Little Ceasers / Curves fitness, but recently I saw a sign there promoting a Popeye's and a Mosque.

I was talking to one of the developers, Elizabeth Hitler (no relation), and nothing yet has been decided for the space.

Dude WTF are you talking about? Your the one that's gonna be hot if Frau Nazi puts your American ass in the oven. Why do you think she has not publicly specified a use for the space? FFX county is not going to be too keen to offer a mixed use permit for a German grocery store/cremetorium.

Mrs. Hitler has done a pretty good job so far, and we're all proud of her. For those who rag on her last name, it is her MARRIED name, and she's not German. I have known her for years, when her maiden name was Ms. Frank.

Yea, as in Frankenstien. So she is related to someone who created a monster and married into a family of monsters. That is some scary evil shit.

^^^ No, her great-great Aunt was Anne Frank. How dare you besmirch Mrs. Hitler when her family has suffered so. As stated, it's her HUSBAND's side that is the Hitler family, and NO relation to Adolf.

There seems to be some misinformation concerning Elisabeth Hitler.

Frau Elisabeth Hitler's maiden name is not Frank it's Drechslerka. Her Grandmother used to hang with Dr. Mengele at camp (no not summer camp- SS concentration camp) back in the day. Rumor has it that she was born with one cloven hoof and has had many surgeries to try to correct it. She is the demon spawn of all that is evil. As far as her occupation is concerned the developer part is correct (Not real estate, that's just a front, but if you guessed the developer of evil and taker of soul's you might be correct ) Stay away from this twisted Nazi bitch. You have been warned.

Fairfax city is where businesses go to die. 10% meal tax deters people from going out to dine.

6% is state sales tax, dummy. Hard to avoid that. 4% is the Fairfax City meals tax. Same as in Falls Church, Arlington, Alexandria, Manassas, and Manassas Park. Vienna, has a 3% meals tax, while Herndon's is 2.5%. In DC, the meals tax is 10%, but there's no sales tax, so it works out the same as in Fairfax City. People meanwhile eat where it's pleasant, convenient, and they like the food. Only total assclowns rule places in or out because of peanuts meals taxes.

I have stated before that Mrs. Hitler's name is an unfortunate coincidence - she is in no way evil. It is her husband's name, and his family refused to change it, which I admire.

Im sure it is incredibly hard for a dummy like you to understand but you pay 10% in taxes when you eat at any Fairfax city's restaurant. You proved the other poster correct -:)

Stupid shit, you pay fucking 6% state sales tax for eating out ANYWHERE in NoVa. It has nothing to do with what city or town you are in. Virtually every incorporated area in the region has its own ADDITIONAL meals tax, meaning that it's pretty much just unincorporated parts of Fairfax County that don't have such a tax, and they will be forced to impose one soon.

Meanwhile, meals taxes DO NOT affect where people dine. They eat close to work, they eat where they've enjoyed the food before. they eat at a new place because someone recommended it or just to try it out. Nobody but bent out of shape asshats and fucktards uses meals taxes to red-line where to go have a meal. You and the other ignorant dumbass can go fuck yourselves for being so fucking stupid.

Again dummy you pay 10% tax when you dine at any city restaurant. No one refuted the 6% sales tax. It must be incredibly hard to be as stupid as you are. Do you feel bigger when you curse big man :-)

Still stuck on assfuck stupid. Congratulations. Here is the original claim, since like any hapless total dumbass, you never managed to process it correctly.

"Fairfax city is where businesses go to die. 10% meal tax deters people from going out to dine."

That's totally stupid. 6% of the 10% tax is not a meals tax at all, but rather a state sales tax that applies everywhere in the area. The tax is inescapable and hence cannot do any deterring with respect to Fairfax City at all. Most of the remaining 4% is going to be at least as commonly encountered as not, since the jurisdictions that impose their own meals taxes tend also to be the ones with the most and most interesting restaurants. And again of course, other than total rotted-brain assfucks, nobody actually dines out on the basis of comparative tax rates.

> Do you feel bigger when you curse big man :-)

Feel free to go fuck yourself, you ignorant low-grade asswipe.

The problem with imposing a meals tax in Fairfax County is that it's subject to a referendum, meaning the voters would decide whether or not to allow it.

The last time a Fairfax County meals tax was put to a referendum was April 1992, and it failed by a wide margin. (58% to 42%)

The political climate in Fairfax County is such that any new referendum would also likely fail, and the BoS knows this, which is why there hasn't been one.

IIRC, towns and cities are allowed to impose meal taxes after simply holding a public hearing and a vote by the town/city council, rather than a referendum, which is why Herndon, Vienna, and the cities of Fairfax, Falls Church and Alexandria all have them.

Even though it's a county, Arlington is specifically allowed to impose a meals tax by ยง 58.1-3833. using the same political theater of a public hearing followed by a vote, although the board's vote has to be unanimous. They did this in 1991.

So, short of changing state law or the voters passing a referendum, there's no way Fairfax County is going to get a meals tax.

How dorkish. There is not a single useful factoid in your entire post. It is nothing but rehashed common knowledge. The County and its schools are meanwhile caught in a severe revenue bind, thanks to the Great Recession and to some very short-sighted decisions at the state and local levels since.

Revenue enhancement will have to occur, and that will be happening sooner rather than later. The Board can kick the real estate rate up enough to start closing some gaps. That's what they should have done last year, but they chickened out. Those increases of course would fall 100% on County residents. A meals tax by contrast would fall quite substantially on non-residents -- commuters, tourists, students, conventioneers, business travelers, and the like. By their regular presence here, these people consume County services. It is hardly an unreasonable thing to ask that they help us pay for those services. So County residents can pick up 100 cents out of every dollar's worth of real estate tax increases, or they could instead pick up perhaps 65 cents out of every dollar's worth of meals tax increases. Which one sounds like a better deal to you?

By the way, your website has an extensive history of sucking.
