The place sucks nothing but hype, and political correct BS because the store was frequented by black in a black area up until the mid 2000's. Face it is this joint was in Arlington or another place it would just be another roach infested shit hole.
The food is sub-par, The chili and cheese are of the same quality of the 7-11 Nachos back in the day. Kind of like Chuck Brown, the shit sucks but DC and the blacks in the area want an identity and they chose Ben's because it did not go out of business....certainly not for the quality of the food.

Ben's is over-hyped, but they're smart to stay loyal to the rapist because he represents their core base customer who they'll rely on once the Nats Park crowd moves on.
They do have a place in Arlington, I work right by there, but I've never stopped by and don't know of anyone else who eats there. That location keeps changing tenants ever since the Arlington Grill got chased out.

I ate at the Rosslyn Ben's by the Fire station, a few months ago.. I tried to like the chili but it fell well short. It is overpriced hype, as others have said. It reminded me of some of the worse crap chili from a can.
I have no reason to go back, at least for the chili..
