Oct 15 Healthcare Solutions Week townhall

As part of Healthcare Solutions Week, a week-long nationwide effort to learn from the experiences of ordinary Americans and to help them find solutions to our healthcare system’s continuing challenges, Virginians for Quality Healthcare (VQH), will host a townhall on Wednesday, October 15, 7:00-9:00 p.m., at the Burke Centre Library, 5935 Freds Oak Road, Burke, VA 22015. Speakers will be Dr. Jack P. Ayoub, Virginia Obstetrics & Gynecology, Leesburg and Reston, who will address “How the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is affecting doctors and patients,” and Arlene Jacovelli, CEO Community Care Clinic, King George, VA, who will talk about “Membership Medicine: Concierge medical service at a Costco price.”

“As enrollment in health insurance via the ACA exchanges begins next month, Virginians for Quality Healthcare thought it was timely to sponsor an educational townhall as part of Healthcare Solutions Week,” said Donna Hamilton, executive director of VQH. “Surveys indicate that there is a lot of confusion about healthcare today, and our speakers will assist in providing people with information that will help them in their healthcare decisions.”

Dr. Jack P. Ayoub was born and raised in the Northern Virginia area. After completing his residency as a chief resident at The George Washington University Medical Center, he joined a group practice. Realizing the difficulty of providing quality care in a large group, Dr. Ayoub started his own practice to provide the type of care that women deserve. Virginia Obstetrics & Gynecology operates as a boutique and quality practice while accepting insurance. That endeavor has led Dr. Ayoub to become one of Northern Virginia’s top obstetricians and an expert in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including AAGL prestigious COEMIG certification as one of the nation’s top gynecologic surgeons. He was nominated by his peers as the president-elect of the Medical Society of Northern Virginia for his empowering views for patients and physicians alike.

The local primary care practice in Arlene Jacovelli’s rural community declared bankruptcy late last year. Painful personal experiences had taught her the foolishness of trusting in government-run healthcare, and the imploding VA system, as well as the British government health system, informed her that it was not viable. She asked herself what a free market medical care solution would look like, and on February 3rd, 2014, opened the beautiful Community Care Clinic in King George, VA. It currently employs four doctors and a full staff of medical professionals and includes visiting specialists, a UAS allergy clinic, and a state of the art blood work lab that serves the community on an appointment or walk-in basis regardless of income, or insurance status. Jacovelli’s vision is to plant similar medical models in every Virginia community and eventually nationwide.

About Virginians for Quality Healthcare
Virginians for Quality Healthcare (VQH) is a grassroots network of Virginia voters dedicated to increasing the quality of, and access to, medical care by promoting realistic, workable, free-market healthcare solutions, and by opposing destructive healthcare policies and programs. The organization contends that patients and doctors make the best healthcare decisions and do not require the approval of government agencies. VQH tells the truth about the healthcare law and other top-down, government-based programs that limit personal choice, threaten personal and religious liberty, sap human dignity, and put people’s health in the hands of bureaucrats. Our efforts are informed by the work of research and advocacy organizations, such as Physicians for Reform. VQH champions protecting the doctor-patient relationship, the freedom of providers to pursue the best treatment plans for individual patients, and the freedom of citizens to make their own healthcare choices. My solution is the best and all Americans should follow my lead.

Don't comply with anything this dictatorship has ushered in either through congress or executive orders.

Rogue government which escalated to a terrifying level during the George H. W. Bush presidency, through Clinton and DubYou, and now with B. Obama does not deserve any respect from US citizens.

I never had insurance in my life and always paid out of pocket.

Now paying out of pocket is impossible. Between the insurance industry, lack of tort reform, and costly government regulations the American people are being systematically squeezed for every last hard earned dollar.

Socialism will fail our country just as it has in every great empire that has tried it.

There is no more doctor patient confidentiality.

This is an excellent topic and very many important points have been addressed by Susan Lider the OP person.

Go Susan! You're the Best!
