Although they haven't been fortunate in their playoff appearances, many cities would take a "curse" of winning their division and being a perennial playoff team at this time. I wish the Redskins were this cursed.

The Foreskins problem is the same with the Cowboys problem..........OWNER'S ARE DOUCHE BAGS!!!
At least we have an advantage now..........NOBODY WANTS MY 'BOYS TO COME TO THEIR STADIUM OR VISIT YOURS SINCE WE HAVE EBOLA IN OUR TOWN! DON'T FUCK WITH US OR WE'LL BRING IT TO YOUR CITY!!!!
The fact that you said "NOT!" tells us everything we need to know about you. Please continue making little money in your shitty job and contributing nothing to society.
Matt Williams = Bobby Cox. Great regular season manager, but plays by the %’s. Has no gut feeling mechanism for big moments. What you do in the season doesn’t equal what you do when the lights are bright. Granted, now he knows who can and can’t handle it (See Storen, Ramos, and most definitely Barrett).

What game did you watch? They lost the game last night because of a bone headed error. Who else throws a wild pitch on an intentional walk?

Teehee. That's the great thing about DC-area sports fans -- they're ultra-optimistic even in the face of failure. Two playoff appearances suddenly becomes perennial.
This is the main problem with DC sports thinking. Yes, they may be better, but guess what.. so will the other teams in the division and league. You can't count on the Braves, Phillies, Mets and Marlins being subpar.
The Nats need to seriously think about their roster. You'll have to replace LaRoche's bat- 25 hrs. If there were really serious, they would realize the trade value of
1. Ryan Zimmerman.. NY Yankees would love a good DH.. plus if would free up some money for the Nats. Like it or not, his best days are behind him.
2. Stephen Strasburg. Can he be lights out.. Absolutely. But he is a .500 pitcher. He has never been the same the surgery. He is overrated.
3. Bryce Harper. No one likes to hear it, but this division series just proved to the Yankees that he will be theirs when his contract is up. He thrives on the big stage and they will pay him whatever he wants. With Jeter gone, he'll put butts in the seats.
Nat's need another Chad Cordero closer. They need a 20 hr bat. Along with a left hander started.
You know what overcomes a couple of bad ump calls? Hits and runs.
You know what else helps? Not walking runs in and blocking your third baseman from picking up a bunt and throwing the out.
I turned off the game in the 2nd when Gio walked in run #1. I refused to watch the rest after the 18-inning mess I stayed up to watch.
I hope they make it back again next year, but seriously if your team can't hit and one of your starting pitchers can't work under the pressure of postseason then your team shouldn't advance in the postseason. They won game three on dumb luck, Nats fans should be thankful it wasn't a sweep.

Attention, assfuck. Baseball is played out over the long haul. The playoffs are the opposite of that. They are mere spectacle for the masses, a media-driven crap-shoot. You cannot play, manage, or build a team to "go deep into the playoffs". That is beyond anyone's control. You can only play, manage, and build in an attempt to reach the playoffs. After that, the reset button gets pushed and all bets are off. Dumbfucks like you simply have no understanding of baseball at all.

It was already 3-2 at that point. Obviously, you were already drunk at the time.

Perhaps you should have appended "I am" to your name. Of course regular seasn baseball differs from playoff baseball. That is why you manage differently in the playoffs. How many teamms use a five-man rotation in the playoffs? It is a different game.

They can simply resign him, bozo. He'd love to stay here.

Great plan. That's exactly how the 'Stros and D'backs got where they are. Zimmerman is meanwhile under team control through 2020, Harper through 2018, and Strasburg through 2016. You do not collect stars simply to cast them to the four winds before their time.

Cordero? Maybe we could sign Alfonso Soriano and Jon Lannan, too. I don't think they're busy. Back in the real world, Rizzo has been either very lucky or very good at roster management. Either way, I'd propose giving a lot of leash to him, and none at all to you.

Until you clinch, you manage during the regular season to win as many games as possible out of 162. In the post-season, you manage to win as many games as possible out of 1, 5, or 7. Today's is always the most important game. When that is over, you begin to prepare for tomorrow's. That's it.

None. What a dumb question.

That's what I said. Not sure how you could have missed that.

That is the whole point. Having 80 games left to go is very different from having 2 left in a series. A fifth starter is very valuable with 80 left to go but not with 2 left. The team that is built for the regular season may not be best for the playoffs. Having 5 15-game winners is great in the regular season, but you are better off with Schilling and Johnson and a bunch of scrubs in the playoffs.
