Missing since 4/13.

it's odd that Nicole is spoken of in past tense...odd that the public help in search was refused ...she was missing a week, her empty car was found and foul play was not suspected...there doesn't seem to be a sense of urgency...I haven't read anything about dogs being used...?....this seems very much like the very questionable noah chamberlin disappearance and how it was handled...

You would think they would have called for hundreds of volunteers to search every square inch of the mountain trails 100 yards on each side of all paths. When a person goes missing who could be a jogger it is not out of the question they could have traveled many miles before some sort of trouble occurred. A few dozen or less search and rescue personnel simply cannot search such a vast trail systems. One thing I have not read is the hubby knowing she was going up their in the first place. What's up with that?

Two scenarios come to mind.

One is that the police have either assumed, suspect or have information that she's already dead by violence at the hand of another, so they don't want dozens or hundreds of people tramping through the crime scene, destroying or contaminating evidence.

The other is that they think she's voluntarily disappeared, so coordinating a search by the aforementioned dozens or hundreds of volunteers is a waste of manpower and resources.

It's not "odd" at all. It's pretty obvious that she's dead and her husband probably killed her, since husbands are usually to blame and he fits the profile. Most people have more or less known this since she first disappeared; sorry you are a little slow.

It is not a crime scene until it has been determined that a crime has been committed. As for now she is still a missing person and hundreds if not thousands of people should be searching for her. I would never trust the police to conduct a thorough search for anyone. Just looked what happened to the boy who went missing in Fairfax and volunteers found his body a few hundred yards away a week later after the police used a helicopter and search dogs to search for the missing teen. When you are talking about tens of thousands of acres the vsp and a hiking group is not going to cut it period. Anywhere else in the coutry hundreds of people would have shown up.

The first point is the only thing that makes sense. The second one would only make sense if the family were silent. They would surely be apprised of such information.

It's a suicide, most likely. Just need to find her body. She's been listed in numerous stories as a "missing and endangered adult" which is usually code for mental illness. My guess is they found a suicide note, so it is either recover the body or hope she used the note as a ruse to disappear.

I lived in Missouri in 2010 when a man (Larry Schnackenberg) disappeared right before his daughter's wedding. They found his car, wallet, everything but no note and no sign of foul play. No one heard for him for weeks and we all assumed the worst. Finally he was found, alive, in a local park. Am hoping this has a similar happy ending.

Hubby Works for VSP, so now what???

She called off sick from her job on Wednesday and was a no-show for work on Friday. I'm guessing it's a suicide.

They found a body 330yrds off a trail!!!

Now we know why hubby didn't know "exactly where" she was!!

If the note was in her handwriting then it has to be- don't think someone could have faked it or had her do it under duress, but strange things happen. Just watch an episode of forensic files to figure that out.

Could it be possible Nicole didn't give a fuck about Fairfax underground? Possible that her world was not revolving around the five month old three or four posts online? If she was that disturbed by those posts, perhaps she'd have done this sooner.

I tend to think the most overwhelming cause of grief for her was the guilt of her actions and the consequences it wreaked on her marriage. A much closer and intimate pain than some online keyboard warriors. Maybe she found out she was Pregnant, maybe with her husband or maybe not. Or maybe she got nasty notes from the wives of men she messed with.

But online posts? Five months old? A handful of them? It doesn't add up.

The biggest slew of online shit posting came after her death. And while those are vile and reprehensible, it was in response to her death. Not the cause.
