On-time graduation for students that entered ninth grade in the fall of 2010 stood at 92.9 percent in Fairfax, up from 90 percent for the Class of 2013 and higher than the 89.9-percent rate for all 94,700 Virginia students in the Class of 2014, according to figures reported Sept. 24 by the Virginia Department of Education.

So despite all the criticism, only 3 of 25 FCPS high schools under-perform the state average.

First of all, those schools are still "accredited." They "accredited with warning."

Unless you can demonstrate otherwise I would argue that those results are more a function of immigration policy at the Federal level than a failure of instruction. Stuart is 46% Hispanic + 62% Free/Reduced Lunch + 32% Limited English. Mount Vernon is 37% Hispanic/29% Black + 56% Free/Reduced Lunch + 17% Limited English.

When kids can't get zeros and are allowed to retake every test and quiz, it's easy to increase your graduation rate. It's all smoke and mirrors, folks!

Whatever metric the feds say they want increased, it will increase . . . especially if money has something to do with it. Look for increases in all districts nationwide on this metric.

They also want fewer out of school suspensions so voila . . . we have in school suspensions now. When the wand is waved, magic happens. They will be reporting this statistic next year and it will lead people to believe that there are fewer behavioral problems.

What Do you have to say now???? 1/3 of NON ESL kids failed the math sol... at the end of the day Stuart has higher test scores than Mount Vernon if you don't count the Illegals and or ESL kids. Even without the Illegals Mount Vernon couldn't get the required 70% needed for the state.

Dont look at the alternative high schools. Try 35 percent graduation rate. That is where the principals send their high risk students so they don't hurt their numbers.

So they don't have to count the alternative schools in the graduation rate (for the federal bean counters)?

Look for more students to be placed in alternative high schools.

if you hadn't noticed, democrats are using schools to preach democrat unionized gov facism and ignorance about the danger of corrupt niggas running a city: they are your friends and control you. you didn't know? u crazy.

if you hadn't noticed (i'm not surprised you haven't) they've been dumbing down books, the democrats, even college books are easier than previous. my last physics book (fucking fx co they keep changing so you can't buy used) last book was TWICE AS EASY as previous: and same with class schedule. it's to allow fucking foreigners to pass is why. because before: they didn't - they flunked out.

democrats need not only to control completely (facist/police state) to steal: they also need to pass classes they are in. at least on paper

fuck off
