NBCWashington's Dreadful Reporting

Has anyone on this forum noticed the amateur-at-best stories NBCWashington has been posting on their new beta website? Since the beta site replaced the old NBC4 website the stories have become poorly written blog entries..

I started a thread in Off-Topic about this last month. It is ATROCIOUS!!!!

In fact, I was ready to post a comment this morning on the site to tell that Jim Newell guy how incredibly lame his "news" articles are. It is a complete joke, instead of news it's like reading someone's stupid blog.

Whoever decided to change their style of reporting should be fired!! NBC4 now officially sucks.

I don't read the NBC4 website, but as far as on-air talent goes Pat Collins is someone you would expect to see in Binghamton or Toledo, not a top 10 market. Did he escape the cost-cutting over the past few years due to his low cap number? A lot of solid talent let as a result budget cuts and we are left with this dreck. Seriously, I don't know why they keep this POS around.

I agree w/ you on Pat Collins, he's irritating... but if you think he's bad, try reading some of the news stories on the new website, it's almost like reading some of the dopey shit that gets posted here.

NBC4.com used to be one of my go-to daily sites, until they changed it. I used to go there to get local news, but now the local news is buried somewhere, and instead the headlines are about Lindsay Lohan, etc. WTF? Did TMZ buy the address?

Do you think that he has the same speech pacing off air? Is this Pat Collins at IHOP?

Got to agree with everything said on this thread so far... NBC Washington's website sucks. Pat Collins is irritating (he's also a drunk).

Two of the most hideous looking women on local news work for NBC 4-Liz Crenshaw and Barbara Harrison.

On the other hand, Lindsay Czarniak is hot!

I agree. I thought it was just me who really is disappointed with the new NBC4 website. I used to view their site daily for good news stories especially local stories. Now, it sucks and more entertainment oriented. I have stopped going to the site.

My friends . . . we like to call NBC4 . . . the Springfield station . . . Pat Collins . . . is our very own . . . Kent Brockman.

Seriously, anytime my wife and I are watching the news and the anchors toss it to Pat Collins I yell D'Oh! and flip to another station.

Gosh! It's embarrassing to have company from out of town watching the news and watch Pat Collins talking about a local murder. He tries to make the story SO dramatic. He wears that dorky hat and walks around with the microphone. He asks the dumbest questions and again, tries to be super dramatic. How he has kept his job in such a hot news market is a mystery to me. He must be "grandfathered in" and they can't get rid of him. I also change the channel everytime he gets a story. SHEEEEESH! Enough already!

Yeah, nbc4 used to my fav website for local news, now I can't find anything worth reading.
I now look here on FFU and Channel 7 and 9 websites.
I thought it was just me...
It sucks!
