LOL. Boring first half, boring second half -- this describes every baseball game, ever.

What a complete and total waste of time.

Bandwagon fans jump on board for the next epic DC sports collapse. Make sure to be as annoying as fuck like the bandwagon caps fans. Baseball sucks.

That classic DC sports fan over-optimism never gets old though. Such a pleasure to watch these buffoons get all giddy, only to have their hopes crushed at playoff time.

Well there in the Championship now.

I haven't paid much attention to football because baseball around the DC is much more exciting.

Redskins will just disappoint again. I knew RGIII would be gone after the first game. Same old shit.

GO NATS!!!!!

The only thing worse than Washington area sports teams are the douchy fans. Especially ones from Northern Virginia. What a bunch of losers. Cosy suburban dicks who route for DC teams but are too pussy to go to DC with their materialistic fupa having Anne Taylor wearing wives and shitty kids.

If Northern Virginia fans didn't go to DC to watch the Nats play, the stadium would be empty.

It's the kind of douchiness that is comical, not annoying.

Basically, DC-area sports fans are like 5-year old kids. Always over-optimistic and giddy with excitement. They set themselves up for inevitable heartbreak year after year, never learning their lesson.

Fan bases in other cities are much more down-to-earth and grown-up when it comes to sports. They set realistic expectations for their teams. They're still disappointed when their teams lose, of course, but since they hadn't been thinking "Championship Baby!!!!" since before the season started, it's somewhat easier for them to take.

So the question is what causes DC-area sports douchiness. Something in the water? Perhaps, but I think it's just the culture, and it has become self-reinforcing. Everything from the way the teams are promoted, to the local TV/radio announcers (Sonny, LOL), the local sportscasters, even the stadium announcers -- it's all douchiness to the max. I wish a sociologist would write a paper on it. It would be fascinating. :-)

Either you're a Nats fan or your aren't. Don't talk like this^^^ and then jump on the bandwagon when it's convenient for you. You'll probably be at the parade and be shopping at Modell's with your family for Nats stuff so you can act like you were a Nats fan all along. Just admit you don't like baseball, you don't get it, and you have better things to do than watch baseball.

For me, baseball is life. And I friggin love this team!! Go Nats!!

What ARE those better things you have to do actually? Do any of them involve FOX News or Rush Limbaugh -- two things whose significance simply pales in comparison to that of baseball?

Another pitching-based, late-inning, come-from-behind win for the Nats on Saturday. The Braves -- remember them? -- meanwhile lost (to the Cubs) and are now fourteen (14) games out, having virtually no shot at a wild card berth while being in actual danger of finishing fourth in the standings behind both the Mets and the Marlins. But hey, maybe they can build a contender by the time they move into their new stadium.

Nothing pales in comparison to baseball, other than when it comes to boredom. Here are the current Top 3 Most Boring Things on Earth, per the Internet:

3) Watching grass grow
2) Watching paint dry
1) Baseball

The Internet doesn't lie!

Baseball is the only American sport about which there is a significant literature. The depth and complexity of the game is the reason why. We have NASCAR and the NFL for those who can't reach the top shelf.
