ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police have reopened lanes of Route 1 near 1st Street in Alexandria after an unsuccessful search for a suspect.

Shortly before 4:30 a.m., officials said in a press release that Fairfax County police were using a helicopter and K-9 units in the area to look for a suspect who had been in an accident and then fled on foot. They had shut down the northbound lanes of Route 1.

At approximately 5:15 a.m., officials said that the suspect had not been located but that police were suspending their search.

Two lanes of northbound Route 1 were closed until the suspect's vehicle was towed.

They may have suspended the crime scene search area search, but they will pursue the matter and convict somebody.

They'll likely be guilty of something, so that works out OK.

shouldn't be hard to find, if he's a resident you have his tag number

1) if not - it's your damn fault for letting him in

or maybe some idiot trying to get off DUI, should probably get a stiffer penalty for evading inspection than for failing one

his real fear in flight: fairness of trial fx co courts, i imagine
