A great cause. I contributed. I've never been to the theatre but it sounds like the family has kept prices low and considers the community in all of their business decisions, which I appreciate. Dan seems like a great guy too.
Even if you don't contribute, it's worth clicking on the link to read his kickstarter page and view the video. Pretty cool for Fairfax.

Dang, I would back it but Kickstarter will only take payment thru Amazon Payments. Because I have an Amazon Seller account to unload used CDs and movies Amazon won't allow me to open an Amazon Payments account.

What is a "Movie ID for 2015"? Maybe that's a freebee pass for the year and the three free passes are for giveaway.

"If you chip in two hundred and fifty dollars ... since you will effectively be paying for one of the seats themselves - we're going to place a custom engraved plate with your name on the seat that you paid for! We will also be giving every person who pays for a seat a photo ID card allowing them to come and watch movies for FREE for all of 2015!!!"

I'm curious, how does kickstarter make money? Do they get a cut of the donation?
I happily contributed and have enjoyed all the updates Dan sends out. There are fewer and fewer mom and pop type businesses in Fairfax. Keep them alive, folks. Invest in our community.

Yeah $104,000 at last count and a week to go. They will be able to refinish the floors to install the new chairs. They really need a facelift. The carpet in the lobby is really grungy. Maybe they can replace that too.
