if your not careful the damn thing is closed so when you try to fill or pour gas goes everywhere.

the one i have the fucking mechanism does work and all of it leaks.

fumes ? they had been controlled by cans that didn't spill gas as they poured: made in the USA and that had good lids unlike the fucking chinese ones

2) Go to the gas station and fill it up
3) Go to 7-11 and buy a pack of smokes and a lighter
4) Light the cig
5) Remove gas cap off of gas can and mower
6) Pour gas into mower. Your face with the cig should be as close as possible to the fuel
7) Problem solved.

These EPA California "CARB" gas cans are junk. They never work right, on a hot day the seep gas out. they pollute far worse then the old regular cans with a vent. Crap. A "looks good on paper" idea from bureaucrats that is No Good.

Yeah, those CARB cans are the worst. I've never owned one myself but I've seen them.

Invest in a quality metal can. I have a bunch of Type II Eagles. Last forever. Justrites are about the same. 50-80 bucks though depending on size.

Hint when ever you are at the landfill there are alot of throw away cans take the nozzles to replace the shit ones on the new can.

I hate the new cans I have spilled more gas with them than before.

i cursed the sky first time i used one of those pieces of shit. i kept thinking, why in the fuck do manufacturers have to keep reinventing the wheel here, its a fucking gas can!?

first gas can - rigid spout with cap. no issues at all

second - a whippy hose thing that recesses into the can in which one has to get their fingers gassy to extract. a bit of a PITA, but more than tolerable

third - a whippy hose attached to some funky lever action valve in which you have to unlock a safety and press lever at same time to pour. more of a nuisance than anything, but at least it doesnt leak.

fourth - that damn abomination of twist the collar and press down to pour while watching gas leak and spill from every crack and seam. i solved that problem with a funnel....now i gleefully pour gas with vapors "pouring" out into the atmosphere. i would rather have that than paint on me, the ground, or whatever i need to put gas into.

i'm guessing blitz was the usa maker of plastic gas cans that got shut down, as i cannot find that brand anywhere now.
