Police are investigating a Haymarket home invasion robbery in which the residents said they were tied up by “multiple masked suspects."
Officers were called to the 6000 block of Popes Creek Place at 12:24 a.m. Monday, where the homeowner reported that she and two other occupants of the house were tied up by masked men, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
The robbers took cash, electronics, jewelry and a handgun from the home before fleeing the area.
“Other residents returned home and contacted police,” Perok said.
He said the incident was not random.
In December 2011, a woman who lives in the same block of Popes Creek Place reported that two men rang her doorbell, forced their way inside, assaulted her and stole a necklace off her neck. She was charged the next day with filing a false police report after police determined the assault was a domestic incident.
