Who still has an old school key cutting machine?

Need to have a chipped car key cut. Home Depot, Lowes, etc., all use new machines which won't cut anything other than one of their own coded key blanks. Which apparently don't include chipped car keys. I know that I can take it to a locksmith shop but they want stupid money just to take 2 minutes to cut a key that I already have the blank for and don't need programmed and the rest. Any regular places around here that still have the old manual-style key machines?

The Annandale home depot has the old machine right next to the new one. It's in the tools section.

Yes. I have one. It's in my basement. You can ah...come over ANY time you like and use it. I have thousands of blanks to choose from.

Maybe Arties can do it. They are pretty old school.

News for you bud - the machine that cuts those keys isn't free. You can't buy everything you want off the internet; I'm sorry life isn't that convenient for you. But if you can't afford a 10-30 dollar cut from an experienced professional, then you must not need the key that bad anyway.

Long done deal. Kid at Home Depot did it for free. I bought another blank from them just to make it fair. Cutting a key's not rocket science.

It may not be rocket science but it’s still a service. A service that you need. Thus, you pay or barter. You have to give something. Nothing’s free. Why would it be? We’d live in a commune then.

Dumbfuck, if you can get it done for $2 - $3, why waste $30?

You must be a 30k-Millionaire
