The U.S should feel really proud about their team, even if they haven't won. Teams that are x10 better have left the world cup. The fact the U.S made it this far, should be an honour. I know most American could careless about soccer, and only tune in and watch it during WC (even if at that) when the U.S plays, but there are many many many other nations, teams that care about it religiously.

And thats the thing. I was watching this at the Skyline area, at the Babylon Futbal Cafe, where all the clientele are from either Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Djibouti or Sudan. where people really care about soccer. Now mind you, these countries haven't played in any WC in the last 30+ yrs, and then u have the USA who plays Canada to qualify (Canada, really?) and they could careless.

The only reason the U.S is in the WC is because of their influence and wealth. they just have to play Canada, or maybe Mexico to qualify, where others (70 nations who are way better than the USA) have to qualify with much more harder teams.

Anyways, see you in 2018 in Russia.

The groundwork has been set I think, for soccer to grow in the USA. I know we keep saying that every 4 years, but there is something different this time around. I don't know, either way, I will always watch the sport.

Of the 5 major sports teams in the area, the NATS are the closest to winning a championship. Face it, DC is Cleveland 2.0 it comes to sports. The teams are either mediocre or just good enough to generate excitement/ticket sales.
