To be considered for employment you must meet the following standards:

•U.S. Citizen.
•Uncorrected vision not worse than 20/200, provided there has been at least six months success wearing soft contact lenses. Without soft contact lenses, uncorrected vision cannot be worse than 20/100. In any case, vision must be correctable to 20/20.
•At least 21 years of age at date of academy graduation and at least 20 years old at date of application.
•High school graduate or possess a valid G.E.D. certificate recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia
•Possess a valid operator’s license at time of appointment.
•Illegal drug use will be reviewed with respect to recent use, type of drug and frequency of use.
•Never been convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanor. Involvement in past criminal activity will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
•Good character and reputation
•Ability to perform essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation

I'd also strongly recommend some remedial English for you, because you'd be surprised at how much writing is involved in a police officer's job, and they laugh at misspellings like "dose" and "commutiy" just as much as we on FFXU do.

A measurable IQ would help, but that's not always necessary with the police...you might do well!

No, you also need a desire to shoot and harm innocent citizens.

There are uniform stores around and pawn shops that have used badges, just gear yourself up and head out on the beat. Getting assigned a car is tougher, you'd probably have to do foot patrol for a couple months before being assigned a vehicle. Take advantage of the free coffee and donuts at most places around the county.

Speak a different language.
Be black, Asian, Hispanic, gay, female, transgender, or a combination of any of those.
Threaten to sue due to not being hired.

how bad must your life be for you to want to be a cop

Take a dead puppy with you when you apply.

It's not documented, but it'll move your application to the top of the list.

If you can supply evidence that the dead puppy committed a crime, acceptance is assured.
