Man critical after being hit by car in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Alexandria on Friday morning, police said.
It happened at around 1:00 a.m. on the 2600 block of Duke Street, police said.
The victim, a 26-year-old male, was hit by the tan, 4-door vehicle, after the car drove onto the sidewalk and hit him, police said.
The driver remained on the scene of the accident. The victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
