Investigators are trying to determine what caused a Sunday morning townhouse fire in Westridge.
Fire crews were called to the 12300 block of Manchester Way near Westridge Elementary School at 1:37 a.m., and arrived to find “heavy smoke and flames through the roof from the townhouse,” Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department spokeswoman Rebecca Barnes said in a news release.
When crews entered the house, they encountered fire engulfing the second floor and attic.
The blaze was under control within 20 minutes and did not spread to adjacent townhouses, Barnes said. No one was injured.
The Red Cross was called in to assist the people who lived there with temporary housing.
Crews from OWL, Dale City Volunteer Fire Department, Prince William fire and rescue and Manassas responded to the fire.
