Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
I’ve noticed that most 8s in the gas price sign are upside down but only at Exxon stations. Exxon most often uses an 8 with a smaller circle on what should be on the top. Instead, they often have the larger circle on the top. I’ve noticed it’s not always that way but definitely around 70%. If the workers were just totally incompetent and didn’t know the difference and just randomly put the number up without trying to get it right, then it should only be 50% that way. This has been going on for years and I’ve noticed it enough enough that it is definitely statistically significant, so why do they do it? Is it a cue or some sort of message?

Great logic! Yes, because I want to know the answer to a generally non-consequential question, then it must mean that I have nothing else to worry about. I must have literally nothing else going on other than worrying about Exxon gas signs. I hope you are a detective because your deduction skills are flawless!

So if they were just dumb or from another country where something like this was neither right or wrong, then odds are it should be 50% wrong, but the vast majority are upside down. Is this some sort of communication between Muslims?
