Gun incident at Greenberry's
Posted by: Coffee Lover ()
Date: May 28, 2014 10:22PM

Last week I was at Greenberry's pretty much minding my own business. For whatever reason, that morning I had decided to exercise my right to open carry. There wasn't any trouble around, just felt like not having the gun collect dust and showing it off a bit. Even thought I might find other enthusiasts. What I found was quite the opposite.

This weeny prick with a NY Yankees hat came up to me and started asking about the size of my penis. I asked him to repeat himself since I don't exactly exude homosexuality and the prick then asked how small my penis was that I needed a gun to get coffee. No one else in line thought it was funny.

I told him if he's got a problem maybe we should go out to the parking lot and discuss it like adults, not bring everyone in the store into this. He smirked and said "no" and then went on about if he were gay and wouldn't find me attractive. So I just got my coffee and left.

He chased me down in the parking lot and I turned around and asked him what his problem was. He said he hates guns and plans to shame anyone who has one. I told him he was being naive and intolerant. He said he planned on doing the same thing over and over. I told him good luck with that as someone might not be as cool headed about it as I was and might beat the shit out of him.

Anyone else run into this prick? He's pathetic really. Maybe he doesn't want his second amendment rights, but that doesn't give him the right to ridicule anyone who does.

Do you think I did the right thing by turning the other cheek? I mean, shooting him would have been cliche, right?

Sure - go ahead and shoot him. Justifiable homicide for questioning your manhood. Stand your ground - right? And yes, I know this is a parody, and a bad one at that. Douche.

Not a republican. Definitely a Democrat since they are the ones who want to outlaw guns. Get your facts straight.

No, that's not what I meant. I would not have shot an unarmed man who posed not threat to me. I mean is there anything else I should have done? And this really happened, earlier last week.

The NY Yankees hat should have been your first clue. I would have dropped him at 15-yards...

Yeah, and the funny thing was he didn't have a NY accent, so I'm not sure where he was from but he was definitely very in my face and looking to start something.

no there's a BIG hunting crowd in NY

NY'ers don't like the damn big city democrats they think it's another planet that is stealing from them.

that guy is a big city worker fishing for a lawsuit

they don't say the big city can eat you alive for nothing

he was provoking a gun accident with an armed person in an armed area

if you thought he's a sack of shit trying to cause public mayhem: he is

As a CCW, when carrying, open or otherwise, you have a bit of an obligation to stand down. Your best bet in this scenario would've been to ignore him after his response to your first "what?" in the store. Definitely don't challenge folks and ask to meet them outside. Escalating a situation is never good. That being said, I wouldn't worry about it, some people feel they're going to change society by voicing their opinions.

This is one of two main reasons I have a CCW as opposed to open carrying. 1 - it avoids unnecessary confrontation from folks like this who want to prove a point, and 2 - some people feel uncomfortable around firearms. While they may simply be misinformed or not accustomed to them, I don't want to make people feel uncomfortable while my rights are exercised if I don't have to.

If you're a FFX County resident, you can file for a CCW 100% through the mail, and there's a minor cost for the application and the certification test if you've not taken one, but you can take that online as well. I personally recommend CCW, people today just don't seem mature enough to handle open carry and follow a "to each his own" sort of mentality.

Thanks, yeah I essentially did stand down. I mean, I wasn't going to just sulk and run away, but certainly was not going to resort to violence. That was his mode of operation.

Agree on the CCW. I've been thinking about it for a while for reason's like the event from last week, among others. It just seemed like it would be a hassle, but then again the confrontation this guy started the other day seemed to be an even bigger hassle.

It's funny how the gun grabbing crowd seems to say we're the problem yet every incident I hear about, and have now experienced, tells me the opposite.

If your going to carry, you need to ignore such fools. He's just a real life troll. Engaging him only turns him on.

A quick stare with a angry looking face and no words will make such trolls think twice before saying anything to an armed man. Speak softly and carry your big firearm.

I don't believe this really happened but just because someone is open carrying doesn't give anyone the right to accost them. I would have called the cops and sought a restraining order against someone this stupid. If all else fails,
take your pistol to the car, lock it up, then go back and confront him an invitation to continue. Tae Kwon Do works for me.

Unfortunately it did happen and why I'm trying to get some input on it. I'm not sure calling the cops would have helped much since technically he had not physically assaulted me nor threatened to. It's was just juvenile trash talk and baiting. I think I frustrated him even more by NOT taking the bait.

Just tell him to ask his mom about your penis and go about your day....

That's funny. I'll keep that in mind if someone else ever tries that. But I think I'll take the earlier poster's advice about CCW and go that route.

If this did happen I'd say he was borderline disorderly conduct at least.
You might want to talk this over with an attorney rather than relying on
the FFU for advice.

Seriously, I would never open carry, especially in this area. To many liberal-minded fucktards like the one you ran into. Plus, I wouldn't want anyone to know if I am carrying. I'm not going to be the hero if something breaks out unless the threat is right in front of me. If I have to break leather, its to get my kids and I out of harm's way. But, each person has that decision to make for themselves.

Stay safe.

My dick size is just fine, thank you. But I can see you are even more cowardly hiding behind your computer than that guy was at Greenberry's. Pretty sad really.

"bubs" .... err ... "Coffee Lover" remembers exactly what happened. Those suffering from dissociative identity disorder and/or schizophrenia often have clear memories of all manner of hallucinations and delusions. But rather than being humorous, this malady can be very dangerous to those around him. Elliot Rodger is the latest example of lunacy and its consequences.

In his fevered mind, "bubs" .... err ... "Coffee Lover" can be whomever he wants to be. If it helps to dissipate unpleasant thoughts, "bubs" could be doing himself good by recording his fantasies here in Fairfax Underground. Conflation of these two identiities in a public forum, however, could indicate his tenuous grasp on reality is slipping.

I am confident that it is unlawful for "bubs" .... err ... "Coffee Lover" to own a firearm here in the Commonwealth. This is likely one of the factors underlying this aspect of his lunacy. (Too many of the opponents of the Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights are similarly unable to lawfully keep and bear arms. Therein lies the basis for the animus.) Unless he's more adept at hiding his lunacy in his daily life than here on Fairfax Underground, "Coffee Lover" ... errr ... "bubs" has no doubt already been:

- acquitted of a crime by reason of insanity; or

- adjudicated legally incompetent or mentally incapacitated, or adjudicated an incapacitated person; or

- involuntarily admitted to a facility or involuntarily ordered to outpatient mental health treatment; or

- the subject of a temporary detention order and subsequently agreed to voluntarily admission for mental health treatment.

If a stranger should accost you and start talking about penis size, disengage cautiously and de-escalate the situation to the best of your ability. Call the police, and report the lunatic. Sooner, not later! Loons are not to be underestimated.

And "bubs" .... err ... "Coffee Lover" is definitely a loon.

I also would have asked you about the size of your dick and whether you had other manhood issues. People who find the need to carry a firearm openly have something lacking in their lives and find a need to show off.

I cannot wait until one day you find you need some protection and while you're waiting for the cops to get their sorry asses over to you, that's assuming you were even able to get to a phone, you're getting the beat down of your life.

And people who ask strangers about their genitals?

... Something lacking in life?

... Too 'faaab-yooooo-lus' for words?

... Or, a lunatic?

Someone asking a stranger about his/her genitalia is a symptom of lunacy. Lunatics are dangerous, so if I observe something like this happening, I'm calling the police to let them sort it out. A pattern of such reports should result in some intervention by the proper authorities, even if a single interview by the police (such as would have taken place if I was present at the loon's delusional encounter at Greenberry's) results in a finding that you are 'polite and kind.’

Elliot Rodger's videos show how 'normal' lunatics can appear to be.

Until they kill someone.

Loons, or their sock-puppets, abound here. (Shaking my head ruefully), I can stomach no more.
