FIOS in Reston

My buddy has it on the other side of the toll-road. I'm by Lake Anne, stuck with Comcast.

I've done connectivity searches, with no luck on getting information. It just says not available.

Anyone know a time-frame for getting the rest of Reston hooked up?

Been there, done that. They kept me on hold, transferred me a few times and I finally ended up at web connectivity help. No luck.

Welcome to Verizon. Sure you want to jump on-board?

Haha.. not so sure, but the service / up-time with Comcast is terrible. I can't imagine Verizon being worse.

Verizon service is fantastic and Technical Support is excellent.. however, their Customer Service for "generalized" questions, absolutely blows monkey dick.

They missed their "service install date" by three days with me, then proceeded to tell me that my shit didn't work because I needed to pay them to fix the wiring inside the house.

After two missed appointments on their end, another, less sucky tech came out and discovered the first jackass never set it up right.

Verizon is awesome when you don't have to deal with them at all.

When it comes to FIOS, Verizon does not release the information on where/when the service will be made available. No idea why, but they don't.

And when a large group of beaners descend on the neighborhood and start digging little square holes about every 50 feet....you're very close to getting FiOS!

Doesn't Comcast have some kind of agreement in place with Reston to provide services there?

I was all excited when the condo board voted to allow the Fios hookups until I was able to compare pricing (which I couldn't do until it was available in my area).

I pay $85/month for basic TV and 30/10 internet with Comcast, no contract.

I'd pay $89 (lowest offer was $79) for 15/5, with a two year contract, and a rate increase after one year to get Fios.

I stayed with Comcast.

When I moved to Reston in the 60's we had Reston cable. One movie a month 7 times a day.
