Ironic it's named Gatehouse since they are the so called "Gatekeeper" making it difficult for students to get their needs met.

The consolidation to these 3 facilities several years ago started saving money years ago. Beforehand, administrative offices were spread out throughout the county in 9 different buildings rhat used to be schools. The consolidation saved $ through less taxes, energy usage, maintenance, and just putting people under less roofs.

However, the county had an opportunity About 3-4 years ago to save even more $ and punted. The office directly next to Gatehouse was up for sale at a cheap rate which could have further consolidated all administative offices to one location. Rather than investing in that purchase, the BOS said no to the purchase. Now we the taxpayers are instead paying rent at the Fairfax Ridge facility, which in the long run is much more expensive.

BTW, the reason why the facility is calles Gayehouse is because it's located on Gatehouse Road.
