Have everyone visited the luray caverns? Is it educational? Is it worth the trip?

fAter a fallow period in the mid Seventies, the band experienced a revival during the late 1970s and early 1980s with albums Sleepwalker, Misfits, Low Budget, Give the People What They Want and State of Confusion. In addition, groups such as Van Halen, the Jam, the Knack, the Pretenders and the Fall covered their songs, helping to boost the Kinks' record sales. In the 1990s, Britpop acts such as Blur and Oasis cited the band as a major influence.[1] The Kinks broke up in 1996, a result of the commercial failures of their last few albums and creative tension between the Davies brothers.[6] Sully Rd South onto lee Jackson Memorial Hwy into Chantilly, check status of machines at Fair Oaks Mall. Return any defective parts that are present. If you have not heard from Bill Splevins or Mara Toles at this time, continue to Fairfax County Court house. Don't park on Judicial Drive. They were the second group of the British Invasion on The Ed Sullivan Show, appearing in March for two weeks after the Beatles appeared three straight weeks in February 1964. For some time the Dave Clark Five were more popular in the US than in their native UK, but had a renaissance in the UK between 1967 and 1970. The group disbanded in late 1970. On 10 March 2008, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.[2]

I had a great time when my parents took me and my sister there when I was a kid.

How old are your kids? It's pricey but my kids loved it.. They were 8 and 6 when we went... There is some other stuff to do there... A cheesy toy museum and a rope climbing park (additional cost) and a garden maze.

It used to be, but on weekends it's absolutely foul with smelly, rude, pushy, line-cutting Indians and Pakis. It's also fucking expensive now.

But beautiful. If you really want to visit Luray Caverns, take a day off of work and take the family on a weekday when it isn't crowded.

Did it last summer, the kids loved the outdoor activities, rope climbing the huge structure, etc. Nice picnic grounds. I couldn't believe how many they packed into one tour group, they just kept sending them down. Then everyone walked along at their own pace and once in a while a half-hearted tour guide would try to talk about their little assigned area----pretty hard to do over the rude azzhats.
Totally agree about the majority of the people being Indian and Paki's.
We went during the heat wave in July and the 50 degree caverns did feel pretty good, LOL

Definitely take your kids, the place is great! Just make sure you leave early b/c it's a hike. I don't agree with facepalm above, or at least, my experience was much different. We just wandered around without a guide, taking our time, taking pictures. The kids will always remember it, just like I do from when my parents took me. Bring a cooler and have a picnic afterwards. They sell ice cream too in the gift shop.

Underground, surrounded by stinky Pakis and Indians. Surrounding you, ever closing in, their putrid exhalations amassing and hanging heavy in the air around you - creating a damp, disgusting atmosphere reminiscent of the open sewers of Bangalore. They are pushy. They invade your personal space, each seemingly intent on bumping into you just so their body odor-infused saris and sweat-soaked checked shirts can rub against you and transfer their subhuman stench onto you.

Do some research. The family that owns this is a fucking mess. Bunch of money grubbing losers who happened upon an awesome geological treasure and turned it into a tourist trap. They count on the fact that everyone will visit them just one time, and that is enough for them. They do nothing to want to bring you back. Fuck them.

I didn't say you were WITH a guide. They release you like a huge herd of cattle and then you can run through it like a maniac or take your time---there are lots of photographic spots along the way. Every so often you will come across a tour guide who will tell you about their little area if you want to try and listen

Luray cavers are literally a once in a lifetime thing. You only need to see them once...the area is very nice though. Lots of things to do. Stay at the best western or the mimslym, they are the only two decent hotels in the area.
