Man poses as law enforcement officer; robs home

STAFFORD, Va.(WUSA9) -- Officials are looking for a suspect in connection to an attempted home invasion robbery in Virginia.

It happened on Tuesday at a home located on Riggs Road around 9:15 p.m.. The suspect knocked on the door, identified himself as a law enforcement officer and was allowed inside the home. He then showed a gun, ushered the two homeowners into the interior of the house, police said.

During the robbery, the homeowners were able to escape and call Police.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, 5'10-6'0 in height, with short dark hair, weighing between 250-285 pounds and is around 35-45 years of age.

Investigation reveals that the homeowners were specifically targeted.


Officials have released an artist sketch of the suspect.

How do you know it wasn't really a cop? The pic and description look like several donut monsters I've seen before.

That police sketch looks like it was done by a 4th grader.

In all seriousness there is nothing wrong with denying entry to someone you don't know - even the police - especially if that person's identity is questionable. If the person standing at your door is wearing the uniform of your local jurisdiction and there is a marked cruiser in your driveway then chances are you've got a cop on your doorstep. If he or she is either in plain clothes or is wearing something that looks questionable then don't let them in!

In doubt? Call your local non-emergency number and verify there is a cop marked out at your residence.

If you cover the eyes of the sketch it looks just like Kim Jong Un. Weird.

The police need our help when it's a white man on the loose- but if its a black man they jusy say "person wanted" LOL

Try not letting a warrant task force that are in plain cars with a vest on and a piece of paper they claim is a warrant.. Yea, go ahead and shut the door on their face or ask them nicely to wait whilst you verify the warrant. Im sure they'll just perch on your doorstep waiting. Ha!

Most likely you'll end up hog tied and charged with obstruction of justice...

Chances? If not then the guy gets to rob my house all he wants for all that effort he put into it.
