Woman, 48, charged after hosting teen drinking party

WASHINGTON -- A woman was charged with delinquency of a minor after a teen was hospitalized after a party the woman hosted.

On Saturday April 26, a 15-year-old girl was found unconscious on a couch of a home on the 10000 block of Akhtamar Drive in Great Falls, Va. She was reportedly suffering from alcohol poisoning.

The party didn't have a guest list but was advertised on social media. Fairfax County Police say it was hosted by a 48-year-old woman, who was charged. About 50 teens attended.

The girl was taken to the hospital.

I wish they would name names on this. I live in Great Falls, and the parents are out of fucking control. When they are not snowplowing for their kids in school or sports, they are letting them drink and screw in the basement. It's not all, but it's a significant percentage.

Reston Police District – Police responded to a report of an alcohol overdose at a party in the 10000 block of Akhtamar Drive, Great Falls on Saturday, April 26, around 11 p.m. A 15-year-old girl was transported to the hospital after being found unconscious on a couch in the home. The teen party had allegedly been advertised on social media; there was no guest list and there were approximately 50 teens there. The host, a 48-year-old woman, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police and the Unified Prevention Coalition remind residents that the “Parents Who Host Lose the Most” program is underway in the month of May. The program is dedicated to keeping youth and young adults safe and drug free. With prom and graduation season underway, residents are urged to celebrate safely and legally. Know the laws and facts surrounding Virginia’s underage drinking laws and facts associated with teen drinking.

Parents need to know:

~It is illegal for anyone under 21 to drink alcohol.

~Under age 24, the brain is still growing and negatively affected by alcohol.

~Parents can be prosecuted under the law for hosting underage drinking parties.

~It is unsafe and illegal for persons under 21 to drive after consuming alcohol (.02 blood alcohol content or above).

~Don’t risk living with the burden of an unnecessary death or accident because you provided or allowed alcohol use by someone under the age of 21.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, along with the Unified Prevention Coalition, support prevention of underage use of drugs and alcohol.

I am a certified Doctor, with many awards from prestigious medical schools and I owning a large house in Great Falls.

Somethings must be accomplished to stop this drinking of forbidden alcohol by teenagers in this place. My children play the piano for recreation, make very good grades that will get them into good colleges, and they do not drink alcohol.

We should band together and talk to police officials about this problem

In my certified medical (documents on demand) practice, I see the resulting thing...students do poorly on SAT tests and are doomed to go to lesser regarded colleges, while my obedient and alcohol free children will be attending universities that applaud STEM knowledge and robotic leanings.

This is not important thing, which is that young white teenagers drink alcohol in front of parents in Great Falls! I did not buy large house here to have my children expose to this.

I will stop by fire station where I see police officer hanging about and talk to him about this.

Doctors don't identify themselves as "Doctors." The identify themselves by their area of expertise or training. "I am a pediatrician," "I am an OBGYN," "I am an oncologist." They don't say, "I am a medical doctor.
