Depends on what you are buying. At least early on in the liquidation sale, they are betting on the public's stupidity. I'm in the market for a big-screen TV, and checked out the local CC on Saturday. They had placed sale tags on them with a "WAS" price, and a "NOW" price. The "WAS" price was just the MSRP of the TV, and the "NOW" price was 10% off of that.

First, they have never sold a TV for MSRP, and second, their "NOW" price was about the same as the price you'd see on the same TV in Best Buy.

I wouldn't spend $1000, $2000, or $3000 on a new HDTV at Circuit City...

They probably won't take returns if you have to return a defective unit.

Any word on the status of CC's gift cards? I have about $30 left... gonna
try to spend it tonight. :)

DVDs are 20% off
Laptops 10% off
Cameras 10% off

Computer access 10-20% off

All sales are final. No returns or exchanges.

Remember to laugh when the clerks ask you if you'd like to purchase an extended warranty.

I work around there, and last time I went in (last month), everything was pretty much gone. The Tyson's Circuit City was cleared out :O.

I will go on record and predict that BestBuy will also be out of business
withing the 18 to 24 months.

The reason? One word: "Amazon"

I have purchased more than 20 electronic products in the last year. All were
carried at my local BestBuy and I always go into the store to check out the
item. I would then go home and order it from Amazon.com, who ALWAYS had
much better prices.(also, no sales tax for shipping to Fairfax, VA)

The items included a 50" LCD TV, a PS3, a HD camcorder, and others....

Good luck with that...gift card holders are unsecured creditors and they typically are not accepted once a company enters liquidation. My understanding is that the CC merchandise is actually owned by the liquidation company and that is who you are paying.

Let us know how it works out.

Don't you idiots know anything?

The liquidation company has already sold most of the big ticket items to major retailers (Amazon, Best Buy).

Unless you're in the market for store fixtures...don't even waste your time going to CC.
