Boss imposter special forces soldier

So, I got a question for the military men/women out there. My boss WAS in the army and worked back in a nice warm office providing info to special forces out doing the hard work. NOW retired, he wears a Special forces ring AND has SF license plates and stickers. We have written proof he was not in SF and he himself said he served with, but did not earn any of the tabs/attend. What can be done?

Post the following:

Your boss's name and the company he currently works for.
A picture of his vehicle with the Special Forces license plate clearly displayed.
Scans of any documents you have proving he was not in the Special Forces.

That's all. We'll take care of the rest.

goto socnet.com

they vet special forces from all branches of the military. If the person is a poser (sometimes they are legit), socent will use that information to contact the poser and request that he stop. They will follow up and if the poser continues, they will confront and out.

I would go to socent.com to be sure before posting info on any forum, esp this one

Read the eligibility requirements for the special forces association. This membership is needed to get the special forces association license plate in VA. Read and research EVERYTHING before ratting someone out. Don't be a tool.

Is there anything illegal about wearing a ring that says special forces if he didn't earn a special forces tab directly?

While there are plenty of bullshitters that lie and exaggerate about what they did in the military, there is a chance he is not an impostor.....

You have, at least in the Army, something called special forces support. Depending on the mission and unit, the members may or may not be airborne qualified, air assault, etc. Special Forces support is usually military intelligence, but can also include a variety of logistics soldiers, psychological operations...things like that.

eesh...
you are dead right. He was special forces support...intelligence. I have a friend who is a commander in special forces. I vetted this thru him. He said Intel Support to special forces IS NOT special forces. They have to have earned the tab, they are support only, and do not have the right to wear the ring, etc. My friend told me when they come across these guys, and they do often, they are told to remove the items/cease and desist. I'm not going to rat him out online here, but I am going to contact socent as provided above. This guy is an obnoxious ass who has furthered his career by pretending to have earned what few do, and what many have died for.

Real Veteran
eesh...

Actually he was a SSO in a unit that provided the intel spt. Some of his co-military guys that worked with him back then are disgusted that he's wearing the ring and has the plates, because they KNOW he wasn't in SF. I would love to out him in this forum, and may still. I am POSITIVE he was not SF and have an email that proves it.

Hmmm. Lots of guys who are affiliated with SF units like to show off some of their bling. I wouldn't do it. But I don't find it offensive, if they are honest. And, of course, you dont wear a rating badge or medal that you didn't earn. It sounds like your boss is a bit of a groupie, but is probably entitled. For example, do a little research on the training pipeline that Navy lawyers who deploy/support SEALS go through. You, however, sound like a real weenie shitbag. Instead of confronting him to his face, you come along wanking full of keyboard bravery like a little sissy bitch with no service to anyone, except your palm.

Just be careful posting there, those folks are quite particular about the rules of the board.
