Weather Forecast Announcement's Phone Number

I'm looking for the phone number that you can call to get the weather for Fairfax County that's free. About 10 years ago I know they had a number you could call and get an updated daily forecast, but I couldn't find it when I searched online. I'm not interested in going online on my cell to weather.com, I just wanna punch in the number and listen to the weather.

I think the last 4 digits can actually be anything.

I am pretty sure that this works for any area code (at least I know that it was valid in Boston, NYC and Pittsburgh).

Make use of it while you can, I saw an article a few months ago that said Verizon was phasing out this weather number service. They've already pulled the plug on it in a few cities. With the internet, smart phones, etc. there are too many other sources of this info and it's no longer worth their time.

What that means is: call it as much as possible so they see that it has high usage.

I used to call it before the days of verizon: It said Bell South or Bell Atlantic

I learned it as WE6-1212 so I thinki t works everywhere

Years ago, 703-361-7171 worked for the Prince William County area - but I'm not sure its still in use and I'm to lazy to get off my ass and get the phone to check.
