NOVA has a decent EMT and paramedic program in Springfield.

springfield...hmmmm is a bit far..dah..
I'm having a hard time finding concrete lists of prereqs/procedures to go about getting certifications/jobs.

the Fairfax gov website is rather convoluted..

Well if the fire department gives you a job, they will train you in EMT-B and Fire Fighter. However if you apply and are already a paramedic they will bend over backwards to give you a job. They always need willing paramedics.
