Police investigate threat at George Mason University

Anyone know anything about this? Is Mason safe? I was actually thinking of putting it on my list for applying but not if there crackpots making threats. Any Mason students on here. Can you fill us in?

WASHINGTON -- George Mason University Police are looking for more information about a threat that happened on its Fairfax campus early Thursday morning.

Officials say there was a threat at the Art and Design Building on the Fairfax Campus, according to a release on the school's website. The threat investigation at the Art and Design Building concluded, by about 8:15 a.m. and the building was deemed safe, and is now open.

Classes in the Art and Design Building beginning at 9 a.m. or later will be held as scheduled. All other classes and events on university campuses will be held as scheduled.

Police say anyone with information about the situation can contact them at 703-993-2810.

Colleges dont get any safer than Mason. Go look at their police reports to see how "dangerous" it is. Theres entire days with absolutely nothing not even a drunk in public

How did I answer my own question? My question was more is it generally safe, not just today.

And thanks LL005 for the insight. I'll see if I can find that data.

GMU is generally very safe. I was studying at "The Ridge" when I got an email at 6am from GMU police. If it was a legit bomb threat it would have occurred at a busier time IMO. I have honestly never had a problem with GMU in terms of safety. GMU really is a great school, I would definitely recommend that apply if they have a program that interests you. Best of luck!

It was a legit bomb threat. It wasn't a legit bomb.

Also, I'd really like to fuck you in the ass.
