The Food Lion in Chantilly on Mclean and Centreville Rd has a security guard with a gun standing at the front. Is that area ghetto or is it a Food Lion thing? It doesn't seem that bad of an area to me.

The Illegal Hispanics Fucked it up. It's doesn't seem bad because of the guy with the gun. I also think they gave a few of the illegal Locust a nice wood shampoo.

Yeah I went to this Food Lion amd saw the Black dude whos an armed guard always standing up front. He thinks hes tough too. Why is he there??

Personally, I'd feel safer with him there than not. Food Lion made a responsible decision to hire armed guards since they don't allow private citizens to carry inside.

Their meant to look intimidating/tough. Number one goal of Private Security is to deter any problems/criminal activity. Security is Proactive, Law-Enforcement is active. Hopefully he is properly trained.

He should still be courtious and helpful to patrons, nonetheless. Trying to appear intimidating/tough, doesn't justify acting unprofessional and making people feel uncomfortable.

I am a regular shopper there. This seems to be a thing that happened relatively recently. I guess they had an incident there a few months ago. Never noticed whether he was armed or not. ::shrug::

Nothing bad about the area.

They've had some robberies there in the past 6-months both inside and outside the building. That's why they started using the (armed?) guard.

What?!!! Are you serious? I didn't know they got robbed, I assumed he was there because of employees stealing..so the store itself got robbed at Gunpoint?

Corporate America doesn't pay for anything for no reason. Either something has happened or they're afraid something is going to happen.

One thing is sure, the guard ain't there to protect the employees.

Well, there arent any armed guards or cops stationed in any of the 5 grocery stores where I live.

Just sayin.

When he first arrived I asked the cashier. He said the Quiznos a couple stores over was robbed at gunpoint, so that is why they put the guard in place.

Saw an armed guard at the Giant in centreville. The one near the Multiplex Cinemas. Guess it's spreading.

Starting 6/1 100 food lions in several states will have Armed Guards stationed in them. With in the next year all Food Lions will have them.
